Thanks goes out to Jimbo for everything he helped LSU accomplish. That said, Im glad he is out of here. It will be tough on whoever comes in for the O to now play up to the new expectations. I just hope whoever it is has a more aggressive style of play calling. Im sure Miles will look for someone who has his outlook on play calling. Only real negative would be if a totally new system is installed. Which would take a lot of time to learn. Next year is a championship type year, hopefully its the same system but more aggressive play calling.
Re: Bama and FSU No Longer After Fisher http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/5122086.html Advocate picked it up now.
Re: Bama and FSU No Longer After Fisher someone explain this to me.... how is the OC FSU job going to springboard his career more than the OC LSU job?
FSU has has a terrible offense and if Jimbo gets them jump started then he will add to his resume. I wish him luck.
Re: Bama and FSU No Longer After Fisher Explain, Beldar. If it's not a promotion and it's not a demotion and it has the same title and responsibilities, . . . it's a lateral move. Whatever motives, salary, underlying factors, and future possibilites exist, it's still sideways on earth. Not up. Not down. Lateral.
Re: Bama and FSU No Longer After Fisher Then I guess you know more tham Muschamp himself. Muschamp has said publicly he was contacted and said he had no interest. Did I say in my post he was contacted about being DC.......no. I said he was contacted. That's all I know.:thumb:
Jimbo is going to FSU, and why do you ask? It may seem like a sideways move now, but remember that Bobby Bowden is gonna retire in a couple years and I believe that Jimbo has essentially been picked as the next head coach of FSU, if he can bring FSU out of the depths of despare. Jimbo is looking further down the road than a year......he sees this as an oportunity to be the head coach at a "potentially" premiere program.
That makes sense because why else would he take a pay cut. However, I think he is taking a real gamble. If FSU can't return to glory, even if it is no fault of Jimbo's, will FSU hire him as head coach then? The safer bet would be to remain at LSU, raking in the dough, and winning for the foreseable future. We will get another top 5 recruiting class again this year in all probability so it seems unlikely there would be a tailspin. He had all the tools here, Keiland for 2 or 3 more years, Perriloux for 2 years, great wide receivers, perhaps getting Tolliver next year...etc. In time, he would get a good offer to be a head coach.
