Congrats UK nice win. I'm not as upset about this loss as in the past. We still control our fate and the SEC comes first before the BCS. Let the season play out. I think that this may have been what the team needs to refocus and get things done. This was our muligan. Now that we have used it lets :geauxtige
Avid UK fan here. First I just want to thank you guys for keeping it sportsmanlike on the field, here, and in the sports community. I know our team had to be taught some manners, especially after our on-field display last year against Louisville. I met a lot of LSU fans today and had lots good discussion about how the SEC is the most dominant football conference in the country. There's lots of emotion here in downtown Lexington. We wanted this win more than any of you know. Actually you do know. I am recalling the extremely memorable game of LSU over Florida in 1997 when LSU wanted it more than any other team could want it. So you know how we feel. Tonight I think we had the right defense for your offense. I thought about this game all week. We made the right preparations and think we executed well. My only hope is that the win tonight was not because LSU overlooked UK, because if that's the case, we will be in trouble next week. But hopefully not. We have a good thing with Rich Brooks and his recruiting. Even in the press conference with local news he was able to keep his composure and look ahead to Florida. I hope that translates to the field and UK can continue to be a presence. What a game. Edited to add. In regard to the "My Old Kentucky Home" thing. From the LSU crowd, it wasn't cool, but I also think it was a small section of bad apples. In regard to the team running on the field, I honestly think it was a mis-cue for the LSU team to take the field. I don't think LSU's squad would do that intentionally.
Just got home from ballgame and needed to post. Met some extra nice and polite LSU fans, was a perfect weather day and 2 fun teams to watch. Great game and I'm sure we would lose 8 out of 10 but we were stoked and hungry for the big one. Good luck rest of season and maybe we could see ya in Atlanta. Just
Why should LSU care what is going on in the stadium in regards to My Old Kentucky Home? They likely ran out at 3:00 before the game started, like most every team does. And then LSU fans decided to cheer for their team taking the field. If UK wants to have their song played with no distractions, play it early enough to not interfere with what everyone is really there for - THE GAME!
This was a difficult one to swallow, simply because there were so many plays left on the field by LSU, but that's what happens in college football. Sometimes you make the plays, and sometimes the other team makes the plays they need to. Kentucky did not give up. They did not relent. They stood toe-to-toe and gave us one shot after another. I'm proud of the Tigers effort, though, as Les Miles was choked up in saying after the game. His team gave great effort, and they left it on the field. Can't find fault with that. Just the execution. Congrats to the Wildcats.. LSU's streak of good fortune in Lexington had to come to an end at some point. This team needs to handle Auburn. Period. One game at a time. Brian ~Go Tigers!~
Like THE Ky NEWSPAPER SAYS what A DIFFERENCE a year makes LEXINGTONHEARLD Sports They still belong at the bottom of the SEC can a reciever pull a pass defender down coming off the line ? Or is the contact only when the ball in the air ? is that when it counts ?
Congrats to the Wildcats. They played a heck of a game and deserved the win because LSU was outplayed, plain and simple. NOW I want to see Teboy cry again next week. Go get 'em!:bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry:
It is called RESPECT. The song is played before the game right after the playing of God Bless America and the National Anthem while everyone is still standing.
