Production cost isn't cheap. There are plenty of OOC games in the last few years they haven't shown. You know if Skip could make a buck, he'd do it.

Plus, it's Labor Day weekend. I know it's hard for us LSU junkies to believe, but some people actually have lives outside of LSU football. :yelwink2:

Are you sure about that? I've watched games that were shown as ESPN Plus with ESPN announcers.

I'm pretty sure that ESPN is not involved in the production of the telecast. They simply pick up the live feed from another network or local broadcast, like Tigervision. I don't recall seeing ESPN announcers used, but then again, I don't watch a lot of ESPN Plus games.

Are you sure you're not thinking of ABC announcers? The few games I've picked up on ESPN Plus were ABC regional games not televised in BR. I've also picked a few late night west coast games over the years, but most of those were their version of Tigervision.

What about the taping that is shown by Cox on Sundays? Why couldn't that be available live? (Sorry if I'm being ignorant here, but I'm in denial)

I wondered that last year myself. Cox does a production of every game - but I believe (and I am just guessing here) that their production is only taped, not uplinked to satellite because Cox is only going to use it to do their replays.

As far as ESPN announcers doing the game and airing it on ESPN plus, I have not seen that. I have seen out of market ABC games on ESPN plus. I am guessing that if ESPN supplies announcers that they are going to air that game on one of their networks.

I am not one to criticize the LSU admin much, overall I think they are doing a good job. BUT it is annoying to read all their comparisons to other schools when it justifies something they want to do. i.e. charging for the website. Then when it comes time to allow the football game to be on gameplan they do exactly the opposite of what Tennessee, Florida and other SEC schools are doing. LSU is the only school that comes to mind that seemingly wants to keep their games OFF of ESPN gameplan. I wish I knew why.

Pretty much all schools have games that are not on gameplan, not just LSU. I doubt if ESPN even asks LSU when we are playing some teams, especially APSU. And there is no way ESPN has enough announcers to cover every sh!tty game in the country.
