Pushing sixty yrs old. Lived about 2/3 of that in Miss. Honestly have never met anyone here that would admit to being a klansman. (although it is rumored Paw-in-law was) Lived about nine yrs in Ft. Walton Beach. Met several klansmen. Saw a klan rally from a distance. Saw more hate up north than down here. Best friend was Italian. One night a guy asked me wtf I was hanging around with a WHOP for? Didn't know what a whop was. After he told me, I introduced him to a different type whop. I whopped his ass. Just tired of certain people telling me how dumb and stupid I am because I live here.
There will forever be symbols of different meaning to different people. I am sick and tired of people getting offended because the “stars and bars” are being displayed. Or, they are offended that there is prayer before a school meeting. Or, there is a statue or picture of the 10 commandments in front of a government building. UGGGHHH.....:dis:  To me it is a publicity stunt. Hey! Look at me!!! This _______ offends me…….. PEOPLE will always make what they will out of it. But, at the same time there are others that can argue for it…… I say if it offends you then there is a bet that there is something that you stand for that offends someone else. Just live with it, don’t look at it and don’t worry with it. Move on and live your life….. Use your energy to really do good in the world and protest the things that can make a difference in someone’s life. Ok… stepping off the “soap box” :thumb: :911: Heather :geauxtige
You may be right about R.E.Lee. Nevertheless, you put it well. I am toasting you now (Kentucky bourbon). :thumb:
That's style Colonel. Not that it matters, but from what I've read, it's WOP, not whop. It is my understanding that this comes from a stamp applied to applications of those who applied to enter the country "without papers". Always wondered if that was accurate. Regardless, makes for good conversation, doesn't it ? :yelwink2:
The great southern tradition that is represented by the confederate flag is a tradition called slavery ( which I am sure texastiger still upholds and cherishes ). Just in case some of you guys do not what that tradition is about it is about devout white christians, ancestors of texastiger, with phenomenal character buying and selling blacks ( or the language of texastiger n***er ). Yes blacks ( aka n***ers ) were treated like animals, bought and sold like animals, made to work as animals in plantations by devout white christians of high moral character. That was the great southern tradition that texastiger was talking about in the history books. After all selling blacks like animals, is not being a racist. It is about traditions? Right texastiger. By the same argument, Germans should put up Nazi swastika's in their soccer jerseys, put them up on top of their parliaments and also carry them in flag marches accorss Berlin and Munich. It would not be about anti-semetism. It would be about tradition, about principle and about what they believe in? Right texastiger? Robert Lee who went to war to protect the rights of ancestors of texastiger to buy and sell n******s would have supported such a thing a civil rights ( which by the way most southerners opposed and still opposes tooth and nail ). Southerners like to bring religion into everything. They read and quote the bible always. Just one small problem Jesus Christ, was a Jewish, and of Asian ( middle eastern ) ethinicity. What southerners call sand n******. There was only one mistake made by President Lincoln, in the civil war. When the states of Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana and Florida left the union, the good president should never have let them back into the union. Instead of going to war and costing lives. The United States would have been better off without these states. We would not have had all these problems, that we have to today. Also the Confederate States of America ( comprising of the poorest states in the union today ) would have been worse than a third world country worse than Mexico.
If you really think that the civil war was fought over slavery then you need to go back and read. Slavery was used as an issue to promote the war in the north to make it seem that they were fighting the good fight. To allow the people to support the president, with a clean frame of mind. See what really happened was that the in the south is were all the things that the north made products from were grown. And if the south broke away then the south would have been able to export their goods to the north for a great fee. and the north being the climate that it is in could not grow these things. Now the north had 2 opitons the could let the south go and have to trade with them or france for the goods that they needed, and since france was already on the side of the north they would have charged the north a great deal of money also. So the only option was to prevent the south from leaving. And eventhough the south had no factorys or plants so to say back then, its easier to learn how to make something then it is to grow something when you have no way of changing the weather. No i made this pretty simple so everyone can understand it that and the fact that i have already had i alot to drink tonight. don't believe me go ask any historian and they will tell you the same thing. But maybe you are one of these peoples that really thing we are in Iraq for their freedom. hell i am in the army and i know better then that.
AXD, you continue in your fine tradition of remarkably ignorant posts. I applaud you. If ye seek the truth, ye only need to read the opposite of whatever the hell AXD says.
I doubt Christianity had anything to do with it, moron. Isn't there a black militant muslim room on the USC forum?
