Why can't we just move on?

Ask any Ole Miss fan how the rebel flag helped their recruting. I wonder why they no longer allow they the rebel flag on campus or in the stadium......?

I would love to burn those purple and gold rebel flags some necks fly out in front of Tiger Stadium

We're LSU, not Ole Miss or South Carolina. We're better than that.........

One of the biggest misconceptions about the flags of the Confederate states is the names of them. People often refer to the "Stars and Bars" when tryign to talk about the Battle flag, when in fact the battle flag was known as the "Southern Cross". The 'Stars and Bars' refers to the national flag that I posted above.

Most people would not recognize the National Flag if they saw it. This is why Georgia could get away with doing what it did. After blacks protested Georgia and wanted the battle flag removed from the state flag, Georgia changed to the national flag of the confederacy. Which made sense because the battle flag became synonymous with racism in the south during the 60's and someone mentioned above.

Does this look eerily semilar to the confederate national flag to yall?

People just don't realize Georgia switched from one confederate flag to another (albeit one less synonomous with racism).

Which being a Georgia native I am happy about, no need to lose all of our heritage.

Sorry for the history lesson because I'm sure a lot of you could care less...but I'm a history major and I've always enjoyed learning about that time-period.

Who cares if it's flying over the tourney. Just the fact that people of different races are in the area playing, coaching, cheering and just having a good time proves the flag doesn't stand for racism. I wish the media would stop having a heart attack every time they see the flag and get over themselves.

I wonder if this is how people in England would be arguing if they would have won the war. Be cause in retrospect the reasons the civil war was fought was the same reason we as a young nation fought for our independence.

Know i might get based for this but to hell with it, isn't it kind of funny how every war as its "REASON" for fighting. And every single time that isn't the REAL reason.

Anyway its a symobol of hertiage and of southern pride, just like people with african flags or mexican flags, or the flags from what island they come from.

Oh well i will fly my purple and gold flag all the way through texas on my way to the games just like i did last year. Don't like it go pout in the cornor.
