I think it's the only one that can even be in the conversation as greatest season ever.

    Here are Sanders stats:

2,638 rushing yards in 11 games and 37 TDs.

    That's a 240 yard average per game.

So I think on the surface you could argue either one but the national championship will always put Burrow on top in this conversation.

And the competition he faced. I know Sanders faced Nebraska and OU at the height of their power, but I still think, team for team, Burrow's competition was tougher.

Although you'd have to admit we'll never see a season by a running back like that in exactly the same vein of Burrow for quarterbacks.

Maybe, maybe not. Things run in cycles, the run all the time offense is making a come back in nfl. 49s and Titans

Barry proved himself in nfl also. So against the toughest competition he was great also.

I think that point kind of gets lost. All that yardage was against some pretty stiff D’s. Good one!

the data on the MiG is inaccurate

Barry has 37 rushing TDs (39 total) in only 11 games.
Add his 222 and 5 TDs from his bowl and his total numbers are
    2,850 yds 42 rushing TDs (44 total).

Barry is just so far ahead of his competition that i got to give him the nod.
    Pretty sure he ain’t human.

In one season he had 42 rushing tds (+2 receiving) with 3200+ total yds. in 12 games he averaged 271 yards per game. Insane.

200+ rushing yds five consecutive games.

2 tds in 11 consecutive games.

    3 tds in 9 games.

    300+ rushing yards 4x.

5 tds and 222 yds in 3 quarters his final bowl game.

Sat behind Thurman Thomas his first 2 seasons. There are stories about the humble Sanders that his numbers could have been more obscene during blowouts college and pro when he preferred to let the others get some pt.

In fact his rookie season in the NFL he needed just 15 more yards to win the rushing title. Everyone on the Detroit offense tried to get him to go back in but he didn't give a shit and never did. Same way he retired when one more season could have had the all time time nfl rushing record. No shits given.

Easily the most exciting running back I've ever seen in the NFL. We got to see him 10 seasons which is forever for a RB now but it sure felt like he could have played 5 more. Playing on those shitty Detroit teams surely influenced his decision. It almost makes me lean to burrow passing on the bungles. Success there is 9-7. The losing culture can't be undone.

Thanks I looked at the wrong column for his touchdowns.
