Right. It's best for a team to move their best post player away from the basket. We see great coaches doing that all the time, don't we? Man, that Brady is an master innovator on offense.:hihi:

You see what you want to see. Brady explained his reasoning behind it. Baby is not an above the rim guy (unlike most "best post players" that the "great" coaches have) and is constantly double and triple teamed so he needs to move around more. Plus most "best post players" that "great" coaches have, don't have a reliable 3 point shot.

Was he an above the rim guy his first 2 years? Was he not doubled team last year, even with Thomas in the lineup? Did he not earn freshman of the year and player of the year awards for his performance in the paint?

Please. I know it's your job to defend any LSU coach, and you do it well. But you're dreaming if you think this was a solid coaching decision.

A simple question. Where do you think opposing coaches want to see Davis, inside or outside?

He was never an "above the rim" guy, but he also was 50 pounds heavier 2 years ago. He is now considered a forward and not a center anymore. Nowadays when you look at the NBA, all the forwards can shoot 3's. NBA Scouts love a player who can back you down but can also knock down the 3.
GD isn't that bad of a shooter, he is shooting 35% from beyond the arc
Look at the forwards in the NBA that are considered tough to guard: KG, Dirk, Gasol, Okur, Chris Bosh, Jamison, even Zach Randolph. They can all back you down and also hang around the perimeter to shoot the 3.

With GD out on the perimeter it opens up the lane but the difference between this year and the previous two is that we don't have another big man to pick up the slack (Bass and Thomas). Personally i don't want Glen to be one dimensional, because then our team becomes one dimensional if everyone only does their role.

If you are coaching against LSU, would you rather guard him inside or outside? If he's such a threat on the perimeter, why don't they double him 15 feet from the basket like they do when he's down low?

Good coaches will let him shoot from the outside all day long. But they'll double him in the paint.

I can't believe we're having a discussion about where Davis is at his best. He's an animal down low. He has proven that.

P.S. What's best for his NBA career may not be best for LSU.

I never said he was best on the perimeter, i said he shoudn't be a one-dimensional player which you want him to be. He has some outside shooting skills, and I believe we should take advantage of it. He will get his points in the paint but LSU will be a very predictable team if he stays there. Obviously, he is better in the paint but not when he is double and tripled teamed like you say.

12 to 15 ft away from the basket isn't in the 3 point area. Basically from what I've noticed is that Glen has shown more of a Karl Malone type game this year. Also of Glen's 3 point misses most of them came from the side while he was pretty accurate from directly at the top of the key.
