Hehehe! Did he have a beer??? opcorn: As one that had a DWI in college it is a bad enough experience! You are really thrown in with the low grades in society for classes and I didn't even have to spend a second in a jail cell so I can only imagine what that felt like if he did! So hopefully he learns his lesson as most of us do in college and continues a healthy and good life! I know we aren't getting this riled up about this kid playing football for us with this "problem"? If it turns into more from here then we can talk but come on, lets realize he is a kid and made a kid mistake that a lot of us have made, and been or not been caught!
A friend of mine who is one of the best DWI attorneys in Baton Rouge. (Pay him $3000 and you will probably beat the rap) once told me to NEVER EVER BLOW INTO THE BALLOON if I am ever stopped for a DWI Why isn't Colt David in an NFL camp?
Reading your post, I conclude you've never broken the law. As said earlier, a glass of wine will get you a DUI. Lots of people have gotten them. Some of them were probobly really Drunk. Some,,,,,,not so much. I don't condone it, but I CAN understand how someone could get one. At his age I'm sure you were mature enough to do the right thing. Me? At that age....not so much. Good thing we have people like you to keep us all in line.
He didn't get a shot at the NFL or Canadian football or maybe the new football league (can't remember the name)? Thought he'd catch on somewhere.
How about this guy? He wasn't charged with driving without a license so I assume he had one. How can you have 4 DWIs and still have a license? I blame Obama. :hihi: For the record, I do not drink and drive. I got stopped by a Trooper a couple of years ago. I was over the limit, I'm sure, but he let me go. Scared the crap out of me. He stopped me because my license plate light was out, so don't think driving properly will save you.
i guess this means La doesnt have mandatory jail time for dwi? come to think of it, i dont know georgia's laws, but in Tn its mandatory 48hrs in jail and 1 yr suspended license (and $1000 fine, i think). seems about right to me, too.
"how drunk you are" doesnt matter past .08 or whatever it is in louisiana. thats irrelevant. just because a lot of people here could have received one doesnt make it better. its just an irrational thought to make yourself feel better about a situation. it was the same excuse michael vick supporters used.
no im pretty sure it means if you've been in the situation where you could have received one as well, you are in no position to judge. being a hypocrite is pretty lame.
guys, whether you think it's right or wrong, good or bad...whether you agree or disagree with Louisiana drinking laws...i feel that what's important here is that we have a young man we all admired greatly who went from top of the world as a LSU Football Tiger to having to deal with the daily life the rest of us live, and seemingly hasn't quite adjusted as well as he could have. maybe it's him getting stuff out of his system that was pent up while he was on the straight and narrow of being a LSU Football Tiger, or maybe it's just some bad decisions. in any case, i think Cold David needs the support of his fans more than ever. even if he doesn't know we still hold him in high esteem for all he accomplished at LSU, it's still important to not judge him and remember him for what he did for our team. his personal life is something that most of us know little about. we should keep him in our prayers and positive thoughts and hope the best for the young man that has meant so much to us as Tiger Fans, to LSU, and to our damn strong football team. just my 2 cents.
