Never said they didn't deserve to be Tigers. What Justin Vincent did in 2003 was be an integral part of bringing home a national championship and he will be forever remembered as such. What he decided to do after that point was not work hard to be the best that he could be and now it shows on the field. Alley Broussard's injury is still a problem as he doesn't have the quickness and more than likely the confidence to perform well against high caliber SEC defenses. Coach has to do what is best for the team, not merely show loyalty to players who performed well in the past but no longer seem to be productive. You must put team ahead of individual players. Let's just hope Broussard can come back strong in 2007 and help bring another national championship to LSU. Broussard, Williams and Scott would be a lethal triple threat in the backfield.

if what we saw Saturday albeit breifly agaisnt Fresno is any indication of what ALLEY can bring to the field for the rest of this season, I'd say we might see the Tiger's catch another gear here for these last few games. let's all hope so.

If the O line can just give him a small window, he can bust it open into an ALLEY.... pun intended. :hihi:

thats the entire problem....people watch LSU against a horrible defense such as Fresno St (and make no mistake about it, they are terrible) and now we get this false sense of security that we will be able to run the ball against Tennessee. I hope to hell we do. But I don't think it will happen. Unless the best possible running backs are on the field (Scott, Holliday, Williams, Hester), then we have a legitimate chance. We'll see if Miles keeps sheltering these kids until next season come the 4th of November.

CParso, I respect your opinion and loyalty to LSU. But after reading this article, I got to thinking. Name one game against a quality opponent that JR showed up and dominated from beginning to end. Where is that statement game? Flynn did against what was considered a quality team at the time there are questions about Miami now though. Matt Mauck went in to Florida in '02 and controlled it from start to finish, then did it again against Auburn in '03. Rohan brought Josh reed to BAMA with him and broke a few records while winning that game by a couple of TDs. Even Herb Tyler as a freshman came out and whipped WEST champ Arkansas in' 98. I'm not saying he can't or won't do it, he just hasn't yet. IMO he needs to if this team will win a conference or national title with him at QB.

I can name a few instances where he dominated in the clutch when he had to, but you are right, I cannot think of a game against a top opponent where he has dominated from start to finish. But thinking back on it, I kind of give last season a pass - no one on the top had a really good year, it was not a regular season. And in 04 he was only a freshman. Hopefully, he can dominate Tennessee and this won't be an argument. We'll see...

I agree, he has stepped up in the clutch. And I'm rooting for him to have that statement game against Tenn. If he can come in and dominate Tenn. early and often, then we shouldn't be succeptible (sp?) to a bad officiating call late in the game that could affect the outcome.

I, for one, hopes he throws 5 TDs and 300+ yards and we annihilate Phat Phuck Phulmers' team 45-3. That is one disgusting coach to look at on the sideline. Yes, worst than the tubster.

    Yeah, that's what I hope.

PS - I hope Broussard runs for 123 yards on only 17 carries

and still it's hard to grasp the concept that jr is a junior in college, not a 5 yr nfl veteran....he can't do this, he can't do that, he took a sack, he didn't lead the receiver enough........damn him!!!!!!! sure he makes mistakes, but he truly is a winner.......hasn't come up "big"? while you'll point out auburn and florida (btw, no one dropped a pass, or rounded off a route, or missed a block, or a coverage did they?) i'll point at the overall record jr has as a starter. "inferior competition!!!!" you'll reply. sorry, jr didn't set the schedule. has he gotten better during his time at LSU? of course.....only an idiot would say no. is he a winner? his record would indicate so......will he get better? past performance indicates that he will....if you look at day one until now. are there things he can do better that coaching can correct? absolutely...how many "great" quarterbacks can you not find fault with? for all of his physicality, elway couldn't win the big game until late in his career. marino "choked", so did boomer, up until now so has peyton, etc, etc, etc.........jr will be remembered as one of the best to ever play the position at LSU.....ever. it's a shame that the self proclaimed experts don't see it this way. :geauxtige
