I'm glad LA schools are getting the coverage, but gameday caters to the NATIONAL radar. Other than people who moved from this area, nto a lot of people in America give a rats a** about this game. And no that has nothing to do with race. I would fel the same way if gameday went to the Nicholls St / McNeese St. game last weekend.
No quarrel on my part Fred, just not sure how much the pub is genuine. I hope both schools, as well as the classic, do well. Sorry the attention's gonna be focused in Houston instead of Louisiana.
I much like many of you, thought the classic was dangerous and stuff, but I, a white kid, have been. and I had a great time. It's a thing to see my friends. The battle of the bands is awesome and just because you don't appreciate another culture, dont turn it around and say it has something to do with race. I really wish they were doing it in new orleans, it's unfortunate they had to have it in houston this year and that game day chose to cover it this year, because the culture of new orleans and the experience itself is a very unique thing.
Ok.... I just can not resist..... L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L L O L
The really sad thing is had not the hurricane happen this would not even be a topic. The fact that they do army/navy or harvard/yale is those GAMES have history, and it is a football GAME that they are playing not the bands at halftime that is the main event. Everyone needs to face it, this is some kind of twisted racial thing at play here that we as simple fans may never understand. And to say that the big wigs at ESPN all of a sudden realized that this was a marketable game from their standpoint, is seriously kidding themselves.
Why can there not be a white national champions - oh, I know why: there aren't any teams with all white players...
While we're being PC, can I, a white male, participate in the Black Miss America pageant? If they told me no, isn't that discrimination?
