Crazy to think we dropped to only 7. 1. Alabama 2. Clemson 3. Notre Dame 4. Michigan 5. Georgia 6. Oklahoma 7. LSU 8. Washington State 9. West Virginia 10. Ohio State LSU ranked ahead of 3 one loss teams. Michigan and Ohio State play each other. West Virginia and Oklahoma play each other.
I think the committee is giving quite a bit of cred for the schedule and the job D did Sat holding Bama to half their avg score in lieu of any semblance of O.
Not only the schedule but if you hadn't watched the game and only looked at the score and the stats that Bama had almost 600 yards of offense you might just say that LSU was overrated. The committee members who did watch the game could see that if LSU had any offense at all it would have been a much closer game. Shows respect for our defense that held ip their end of the bargain until the exteded time on the field wore them out. Last might I listened to Jacob Hester talk about having been in games like that where he was ashamed to look at the defensive players as the offense walked off the field after another 3 and out.
So in an 8 team playoff if we won out we would still be in? Hell maybe even a 6 team. If (when) Georgia loses to Bama in the SECCG we will be in the top 6. Assuming Michigan wins out and OU wins out.
Of the teams ranked 3-6, I think at least three suffer losses. Michigan will lose to OSU. I think Notre Dame will drop to someone, and if not them then Oklahoma might drop one between WVU and the conference championship. Georgia will lose to Bama no doubt. I think the greater threat to prevent us from making the CFP is that one of the few right below us win out, win their conference, and jump LSU into the top 4. Really you just have to pull for lots of upsets in the conference championships. Let’s not forget this is where our team has traditionally lost focus after a Bama loss and just shit the bed against Arky or TAMU.
Not gonna happen. Orgeron is 2-0 against ark following bama, and aTm has yet to beat LSU since joining the SEC.
