he is referring to the fact that the SEC has "locks" in other divisions (i know you know this, I'm not trying to patronize). bama vs tenn and AU vs UGA happening every year has alot to do with the SEC offices being located in the state of alabama.

the sec needs to follow the Big 12 model (oops my bad, i mean the big XII) and just play three teams a year out of your division in a home and home. and then the following two years play a home and home with the other three teams. rinse and repeat. that way everyone is treated fairly.

it's a disadvantage for LSU to have perennial power UF every year on the schedule when a team like Ole Miss gets Vandy. in fact, the florida folks b!tch about this more than we do. they hate playing us every year and the feeling is mutual.

OU and nebraska don't play each other every year and college football still somehow manages to exisit.

especially considering the price hike the tradition fund bestowed upon us this year.

yeah, I really want to pay MORE to see App St, Troy and Toolame. I guess us and John Curtis didn't have an open date the same weekend.

c'mon, JT curtis would NEVER play us!!!!

his players might fall in love with death valley and actually want to come here and for him, that's just unacceptable.

This wasn't a knock on USC, and this is leading to a whole other argument, which is not my intent. I am just stating what is the common nationwide view of the system. I believe it was the PAC 10 and Big 10 who kept the BCS from going plus one! Let me know when your league plays a conference championship! If we got a plus one then schools would be more likely to schedule tougher OOC. Umm, I can't find the quote right now, but Beamer was glad the contract was up. I believe Oklahoma was originally on the schedule to go home and home and backed out. Does anyone not remember how we tried to schedule a quality opponent, before flipping the North Texas game. My blast on ESPN is their little deals is what have reaked havoc on our schedules, and yet their "analysts" dog us. If we had not tried for a Texas Tech, or Houston, then fine.

And for the post about UGA-GT, USC-Clemson, UF-FSU ummm hello, rivals. Unfortunately for us our in state rival is Tulane and they currently aren't that caliber of opponent.

For the record, we have played good OOC, we want to play good OOC, I want us to play tough OOC. We got stuck with a crummy OOC schedule for this year, period. I was however, just trying to make the point, that if we didn't try, under the current system it would not be illogical. But LSU AD did try and will continue to try (as much as they can without giving up sig. $$ :))

Ask any Auburn fan about their Citadel game in '04 and you'll have a undeniable argument against your thought here.

I may have this wrong, but didn't they lose to Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship that year?
