No reason. Only a few of the highest profile athletes at big time programs will be able to cash in. If Bubba Bob of Bubba's Chevrolet wants to use an LSU player to be in his commercial who would he hire? Joe Burrow, Grant Delpit, maybe Derek Stingley Jr. Probably just a few more, And thats from the best team in the country. I don't know if Oregon has anybody like that other than the QB. Hebert could probably pick up some nice change but who else, And we are talking about the most visible players on top 1o teams. Do you think anybody at all who plays in the AAC, CUSA, or the MAC is going to make a dime? And why shouldn't anybody be allowed to make money off their own name and likeness? It does belong to them after all. I saw 2 college age kids a while ago. One was wearing a Joe Burrow jersey and the other a Grant Delpit. LSU is making bank off the image and likeness of these kids. Why shouldn't they be allowed to share in the profits? This is going to have no noticeable effect on college sports. What would ruin college sports would be if they paid a sum of money to each player. Then Title IX would kick in and they would have to pay the 3rd string women's soccer player the same amount as Joe Heisman.
