Correct, tribalism has been a problem everywhere. Angles and Saxons, moors and Bretons, etc. but in Africa is it still a crippling force that is totally destructive to the possibility of democracy and stability. My northern English ancestors were ransacked by red's Viking ancestors. Our Chinese friends were shredded by their Japanese neighbors. Our Seminole pals battled the Sioux or whatever. All races, all people, have violent tribal histories. Black people like Obama, a Kenyan luo, has a history of tribal violence vs the nearby kissii tribe. It's no different for anyone. That some of this tribal violence was between whites and blacks is not relevant. Blacks are oppressed mostly by other blacks, globally. A black person today on earth, should desperately hope he lives in a majority Anglo nation, especially is he hates racism against blacks, which is worse in Africa.
again, more gibberish to the topic at hand, sure today many African nations are like this, im refering to the slave trade and centuries before this cataclysmic event. Lets stay on topic, I dont need current events from you. Your history is spot on discussing global tribalism, so theres that usefulness.
My point is, your point of no one knowing of how Africa would have turned out, is infantile. Of course no one knows, but to assume it would be better is no more likely than to assume it would be worse. You cannot have it both ways. And to foolishly ignore the the state of much of sub-Shara Africa today, is disingenuous. But it is your right to do so!
when did I say that it would have been better? I said using it as an excuse to or some sort of saving grace to slavery is bullshit. Im not ignoring anything, again you cant have it both ways. Im confused as to when I said any of what you are proclaiming. Or maybe you are putting words in my mouth. At least try to make it sound plausible if you are going to say I implied something. And you are making the leap, with using the state of Africa today, but ignoring historical events, you are trying to have it both ways.
One story that you post does not equal data. SO if you have data, post it and then we can discuss it. Cherry picking one story is not indicative of anything.
sure it does, its just one story, to point out an inequality in sentencing structure. Many examples of this regarding crime in this country. Which is fine, no one should be let off for serious crime, but the sentencing should be the same across the board.
If there are so many, then give it to me. In what frequency are blacks miss sentenced compared to whites via the same crime?
the crack vs powder cocaine disparities, that came out of congress during the 80s, which was reformed in 2010, which was bi partisan and many republicans agree the disparity in sentencing was wrong. Im sure you have heard of that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Sentencing_Act Im not crying wolf, trying to get you to admit or at least see a problem. Do black people have major problems in some of the neighborhoods across the country, sure they do, but this isnt a monolithic issue and im trying to get you to see that.
I never said there wasn't a problem. But I refuse to talk about a problem between a guy that broke the law and a guy that broke the law less. That isn't "oppression". Oppression is what blacks had to go through in before the 1960's. That isn't life today. I mean in both cases, even you can admit, we are talking about people breaking the law...... There are a lot of factors going into this. Most of which more than likely relate to the neighborhoods they are from. In any case, if anyone can sit there and tell me that the US does not make progress every day with regards to going out of its way to make everyone equal (even when they are not) then I will call you a liar.
