I talked with the colonel's wife at around 7pm. He had still not woken up, but the procedure was finished. He ended up having a quadruple bypass, and it was successful. They had a bit of difficulty, in that he has smoked for a long time and had a bit of hardening of the arteries. That made it difficult to find good donor arteries. Time to quit smoking, lose some weight, and exercise. However, he is out of surgery and has the chance to be around for a long time if he does his part. It was cool hearing the relief in his wife's voice. Thank you all for the prayers.
I talked to @col reb yesterday. He got home Wednesday and all is as good as can be. He said to make sure everyone knows he appreciates all the thoughts and prayers for his well being. He also said he will try to log on soon and express his appreciation himself. Thanks everyone.
