6 and a half hours of pre-op yesterday. Bad news is that I have to have the operation. Good news is that at 68 years old and smoking most of that time, my lungs are in great condition. The lady that did my respiratory workup said that of all the people she had done this week, that my test results were the best. Strong lungs, no problem for the operation. Hard to believe. Plus, there is NO damage to my heart, what-so-ever. Just the five blockages. It will be tough going for a while, but I plan to fight like a "CHINESE BANDIT". I just hope it turns out better than 7 to 3 if you know what I mean. Any of you remember those years? The bandits, the GO team, and the WHITE team? What memories!!!! Sometimes, I have to remind myself that I'm a Reb.
I spoke w/ Col Reb yesterday. His surgery got postponed to this morning. He should be in pre-op now. I will be talking to his wife after lunch to get an update and will let everyone know how things went.
I spoke with his son at 12:15. They had just taken him back. They expect to be done around 6:00pm. I will update everyone as soon as I hear.
