As a Bama fan, I don't get in conversations regarding Saban vs Bryant. There's simply too much in the game that's changed to draw any comparisons.

I'd suggest it's the same with Miles and Charlie. In fact, I'd declare so.

Terry I think the point is will Saban overshadow Les as Bear did Charlie. Charlie was an excellent coach but he was caught coaching at the same time Bear and suffered in the comparisson.

I missed it then. But, reading it again, I can see where you would draw that conclusion.

That's a fair analogy. Prepare to be heavily bashed for this statement though. Others will claim that you love Saban. Those who will bash should realize that we do not love Saban. Rather, we like the results that Saban gets on the field. We're only defending the product that Saban so regularly fields. It could be any coach. Even if you hate Nick Saban, it's impossible to go on denying his complete superiority over Les Miles.

It's not that. It's the fact to which there is no other "Saban" available.

Who would replace Miles and take Saban's crown?

No one will ever take Saban's crown. But, they could bring LSU a much brighter future by simply providing a weekly showing of competence on the sidelines. I'd define competence as starting with proficient in-game management. Can you not comprehend that there are many coaches who can do far better than Miles? If you're looking for someone to surpass Saban, you can give up now. The goal in a hypothetical replacement would be to eliminate Les Miles' continued acts of sideline insanity, as well as bad management in other areas. That benchmark shouldn't be too tough to fulfill. If we listen to you, I guess it's just an unreachable goal though.

I'd like to hear any available upgrades. Then again. I see no viable option currently.
