Miles seat is in no way hot, are you friggin' crazy? :insane: He has a 80% winning record, a top recruiting record, and an SEC championship that Pitt has nothing to do with. He has a national championship and averages double digit wins. Any such hot seat talk is just ridiculous. Geez, nobody . . . I mean nobody . . . gets rid of a coach with Les' record. Who the hell would come here if what he has accomplished gets you fired.

    Get a grip will ya'.

The recruits know that they may get an opportunity for early playing time because players are leaving and changes are going to be made. You think they've forgotten our entire 20th century record?

Most of the guys who have played pitiful from the start are still our starters. All of the WRs, all of the DBs (except Jai), all of the LBs, and all of the DLs.

Alem doesn't even get to start for d-linemen who are stinking it up, and it took Lee getting hurt for us to finally see the promise in JJ.

LSU can't possibly pitch early playing time to recruits and think they can get away with it. :insane:

Yep. This is definitely a troubling trait of Miles.

Byrd started today. Anybody on this forum think he deserved to start over Toliver?

Anybody think it would have been a great way to reward Toliver for his hard work going into next season?

To win in the world of sports, unfortunately you can't be anybody's friend. You have to make the tough decisions and show tough love.

    Really????

I don't think he should be fired my any means, but there are at least 20 current collge coaches I would gladly trade him for. Not because he sucks, but becaus eI think they are better, especially on gameday.

Miles isnt quite on the hotseat but this team is getting worse each week. The team has no discipline and there is no exucse for how the play today and the last few weeks. The coaching staff has stunk it up. The kids dont have their heads in the game and a lot of that goes on the coaches. If Miles wants to stay at LSU he better get some coaches who know what they doing. This team cant cover or tackle or make adjustments. Since mid way through last year the LSU has been torched yet every week we hear the same song and nothing changes.

The offensive play calling has been questionable. LSU should have ran away with this game today. As mentioned its obvious JJ should have been the QB a looooong time ago. I like Miles but he is losing his ship. Next year will be crucial and this offseason will tell a lot about Miles as a coach. Will he put his foot down and do the things necessary?

And that is why I brought up the Pitt game because had Pitt lose then there would be NO national championship to place on the mantel.

Its just a question to spark debate

everyone's always blabbing about Mile's incredible record, blah, blah blah. But, once again, i submit to you that MOST ANY MEDIOCRE COACH IN THE COUNTRY COULD HAVE DONE AS GOOD WITH WHAT SABAN LEFT!!! RECRUITING INCLUDED, THAT'S PART OF SABAN'S LEGACY!!!

Imagine Mile's stepping in when Saban did, back in 2000. What would his record been after 4 years? What would our recruiting classes have looked like? It would have been mediocre, IMO. It's rare for a coach to step into a program in terrific shape. Usually they step into troubled waters.

So cut the bullcrap, quit citing his record, recruiting, etc.., LET's TALK ABOUT WHAT MATTERS: PROGRESSION. And, we are in DECLINE. The focus might be a tad blurry right now because of last year's backing into the NC Game with a Super, Talent Laden Juggernaut of a team, but go back and exam the games, the two losses, the many close calls.

We are a team in Decline, because of Les Miles, but sadly, we will not get rid of him until things get horrible over years, the endgame of Saban's Legacy (People attributing Mile's early LSU Record to Mile's)

I think it is a legitimate point in looking at the past, present and future, and by that I mean last year, this year, and next year. I don't really see anyone here calling for his head. I think the most important thing is going forward. As someone said above, next year is crucial. Certainly, there has to be some aggravated people in Tigerland already. Miles has to get this turned around. If he doesn't, does anyone doubt that he will be on the hot seat? I don't. Another season like this and I think he is in big trouble going forward into the following season (2010). Let us hope that this is a blip and we get past it.
