I have to agree entirely. This is the way it goes when you're doing well. Miles may or may not feel an obligation to LSU, but I'd not curse his name if he left for Michigan. I would, however, curse his name if Arkansas hired him away two years later.
I just read all the posts up until this post. These are all really good sincere posts about our football team and Head Coach. If you listen to other college football boards and the media we are told we don't like our coach and would be happy to see him go. This is so far from the truth. I'm happy to see we all feel the same about the great job our coaching staff is doing. I hope our players can integrate what they are learning with passion and hunger to win one game at a time. The players hold the key to this Saturday night game against Virginia Tech. By how they play they can incite the crowd in Tiger Stadium to a noise level never heard before. I hope all the players understand how we can feed off each other and bury Virginia Tech. Man up and bring your best, it's our house. :thumb:
We will not sweat, we've been through this before and have a stronger program because of it. Miles will not let it drag out if they offer him. It's part of college football today.
:helmet: If Miles leaves for Michigan, I think there may be another coach in the SEC that would be very interested. THE OLD BALL COACH would be a nice fit for a guy that could use a pot full of talent and a school that will let his recruits enroll !!!
If it was indeed not about the money and if Les Miles leaves then Nich Saban will probably be begging to come back to LSU. He never wanted to leave in the first place. Are you interested in some New Mexican beach front property? I'll give you a good deal.
If Miles leaves his contract its $500K to anyone school except Michigan in which it is $1.25 Million I believe. Although, Miles is a UM Grad I don't know how much he wants to be there. Obviously It would be very bad on his part to say he wants to coach there, but has he said anything to let us know his desire there? He played and coached under Bo Schembechler there and I know the two were great friends. I'm thinking he only went to UM because of Coach Bo, but because Bo unfortunately passed away recently, do you still think Miles has strong bonds with Michigan itself? I'm hoping not...
Auburn is/has been good lately, but they haven't been the "it" team. Crap, they went undefeated and couldn't even get respect! Face it, Terry, LSU! is "it"!:hihi:
