Miles would be following his heart. He loves UM and I would not blame him if he went back to UM. Saban also followed his heart. He loves money and the Dolphins showed him the money.
In a word, YES. That's what happens when your team is at the top of the heap. He has stipulations in his contract stating where his salary will be ranked if he wins an NC...I think Top 3 or Top 5 in the nation. He also has similar stipulations for winning an SECC...like top 5 or top 2 in the conference. Either way, he'll be getting a huge payraise, and he already makes more than Lloyd Carr.
I wonder at what point people will get over that thought process about the $$. Facts just don't support it. I'm not trying to incite the Auburn fan base here, but if that were true why don't you see people trying to hire TT?
I don't think that this is like the Saban era at all. Every season with Saban we held our breath. It could come from anywhere at anytime... With Miles, there is a narrow window here that if we somehow keep him through that window we will be safe. If UM keeps their current coach, we are safe. If not, we have at most two months of sweating. Once they hire their new coach, we should be safe with Miles for a while. It is those two months that will be tough.
Should Miles go to Michigan next year, he'll have an easy opener. http://www.thearch-info.com/Sports/Buckeyes/BUCKS_scUM_PeeWee.html
