Now that's funny. I was in the car and listening on 870, Hawthorne didn't say anthing about that. He was carrying on at how classy LSU fans were for acknowledging a titanic HR by a visiting team. I like your version better.

 

I'm ok with everything he said up until the Civil War comment. That was a jab intended t make us sound like redneck racists, NOT a 'brother against brother' battle.

 

They applauded him for his home run. Clapped while he rounded the bases. The ball was thrown back after that. But again, it was after the game had been decided. They were already gutted and skinned at that time.

 

There were a couple of fans in the stadium holding up a sign that read "The Civil War should have been the best 2 out of 3". :shock:

They made them put the sign away.

Yeah they mentioned it on the radio broadcast. If you know the back story it's pretty funny. If you don't....well.
