Where did it say he held a grudge? He was asked to compare the two fanbases, he didn't just randomly make the comment. His other and much longer previous comments were flattery.

And again, if LSU fans are indeed known for their hospitality, then why focus in on this ONE comment and aim to make his visit miserable?

You honestly don't think he is holding a grudge after reading that comment?

One fan...out of 7,000? You'd think a collegiate coach would have thicker skin than that. I'd also expect better leadership.

I have no idea what comments were made to him about his wife or whatever. That still doesn't justify him making such ignorant and condescending remarks about the most loyal fanbase in college baseball...or any fanbase, really. Frankly, it just sounds like sour grapes to me. We know you're pulling for the Aardvark's, but you can't spin this one.
Sorry you missed the implication in that remark. See islstl's comment for clarification.

Seems to me that the way to handle it is to beat them senseless on the field and then treat 'em REAL nice at the #6 dance later in the evening....:eek:ldskule:

No, I really don't because I didn't read the comment out of context, his prior comments were to the contrary, and he's a lot tougher than you are giving him credit for.

I already said I agreed with that. Emotions run high and got the best of him that day.

Not justification, but explanation which was obviously lacking until brought up. Understanding the entire history certainly changes the context IMO. Did not say it was right, but only looking at one aspect of the story is disengenous. And that would be Anteaters, not Aardvarks.

I expect that Coach Gillispie will get razzed quite a bit as opposed to seeing a welcome mat.

Why even make that comment if you are genuinely worried about the fans. Pretty stupid, no?

    Well, that isn't saying much.
No, I still believe that it's irrelevant to the fact that he generalized an entire group of people based on the actions of one.
Yes, I know that. It was was TIC and somewhat of a jab, considering that Aardvarks eat ants. Hell, is there even any difference between the two anyway?
He's earned it. While we are the most welcoming group of fans, we are also the worst ones to piss off. He dug his own hole, now he's got to lay in it.

I'm not genuinely worried about the fans. They will be what they will be and Gillispie will have to deal with it or enjoy however it goes. That wouldn't be the first time I've been accused of stupidity.

2 wrongs don't make a right, do they?

I was referring to his comment, not yours.
