Did you happen to see the missile strikes today against terrorists in Pakistan? On his third day of office? Does that not send a message?

US Military bases are considered US soil.

Not sure I understand what point you are making here... Is this a rhetorical question, with the answer being the media or something?

This is not a good sampling group. Most of the posters on this board are white male southern Republican Christians.

You right. Looks like it is because we do not recognize the sovereignty of the Cuban govt.

Which is why none of these fuggers should ever be brought here. The US Supreme Court did grant them some habeas corpus rights in a narrow 5-4 vote but this legal battle is far from over.

Once they set foot on US soil proper its a different story. Even if Gitmo was recognized as a normal base there is still differences in military law. That all changes as soon as they touch the ground here. Its a slippery slope.

This is correct. I don't like the way gitmo has been handled but bringing them here creates a whole new set of problems.

If any of these guys get released through legal channels here and then commits another act of terrorism, it will be very bad indeed.

I don't have a solution for what to do with them, but I sure hope Obama does.

Were any of these "prisoners of war" actually wearing the uniform of the armed forces of a signatory nation of the Geneva Convention when they were captured? If not, they are technically not entitled to its protections.

What happened to all the Euro's who bitched about Guantanamo and said they would take them in? Bunch of ninny pansy azzes. Despite the bluster they fold into the fetal position when it comes to crunch time. A perfect example of why world opinion shouldnt matter much.

    The entire article is H E R E
