That answer proves you’re looking at this politically not through engineering or science. The safety record of western designed, built and operated nuclear plants is unmatched. There are also new designs that are even safer. If climate change was truly your objective you’d be heavily pro nuclear......or maybe you have your head stuck so far up your ass you can’t see
Take a look at this life expectancy graft I pulled off the internet, not my graft. Fossil fuel use began around 1900. Notice how our life expectancy soared as we used more fossil fuels and so called greenhouse gases.
Again you show your ignorance. Wind only supplies 5% of the world’s electricity and solar even less. The material and mining requirements for storage (batteries) and continuing replacement of solar panels will make coal mining look clean. There is a place for diverse sources of electricity but relying on solar, wind and hydro is the stuff of fantasy. If carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is a problem them carbon capture and sequestration is the best solution with nuclear and hopefully fusion the best generation source. BTW electric cars and trucks are definitely viable....but only with robust central power generation as the supply.

Not arguing with you Winston just wanted to chime in on carbon. It is more clear every day that heat proceeds the rise in carbon not carbon causing heating. Carbon is the most essential gas for life on earth. We would be wasting money and resources trying to sequest carbon. We need it and more of it to feed the world. Carbon is plant food. Because the media and now the internet to some extent has not aired this people now think carbon is poison. Sad just sad.
You must have watched the China Syndrome once too often as your ignorance of nuclear engineering is obvious. The worst LOCA incidents 3 Mile Island and Fukushima prove you wrong. Current designs and completely new designs are even safer. France has operated reactors including Breeder reactors which produce plutonium for future fuel for 40+ years in perfect safety. Nuclear is the best, safest and truest hope if you truly believe that global warming is a danger.
