This article is full of nonsense. Thomas Gale Moore is a Reagan economist, not a scientist at a lll, much less a climatologist. This is typical of the kind of unscientific bullshit that the anti-science crowd puts up. What you should read is the IPCC report which is the consensus of climate experts from around the world.
Only a fool would say this. It is not. Pollution is not a better quality of life. Mass desertification, crops losses as climate shift, mass extinctions, sea-level rise inundating coastal areas, loss of oxygen, etc. read the above.
Yes there are natural periods of warming in pre-history. There are also periods of masse extinction related to many of these. Because there are natural cycles. Most of them move very slowly giving flora and fauna time to evolve and adapt to changing conditions. But when they change rapidly from meteor impacts or super-volcanoes. They cause major problem to life on the planet. Because of the rate of change. Since the Industrial revolution the speed of climate change has been alarming and directly related to human burning of carbon in the atmosphere.
The rate of warming is on the order of 10 times faster today than in the ice cores. Such rapid warming on a global scale is quite rare in the geological record, and while it may not be entirely unprecedented, there is strong evidence that whenever such a change has happened, whatever the cause, it was a catastrophic event for the biosphere. http://www.ucar.edu/learn/1_4_1.htm http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/20050902215757data_trunc_sys.shtml
it is, that is why economic development is so much more important than global warming. lack of economic development is killing millions, right now.
Each one of these things can relate to a possitve. Loss of crops in one area means growth in another.
