Clemson didn't look like a #1 team today. They may switch spots with Bama. But as far as LSU.....your first test is really Oct 5th. So far, the D looks sketchy and the offenses you've faced are ranked 129, 22, 121, and 97. As for the points LSU is putting up...again, look who you've faced. The rankings for those teams on TD are 80, 101, 48, 126. Utah State is ranked 6th in TO, the highest so far, by far. Your D is going to have to shut them down or it's going to be a shoot out and the polls won't like it.
So....... Utah State at Home is a tougher test than Texas on the road..... okay After watching Bama, their defense has just as many question marks as LSU’s I think the best team in the country right now is Ohio State.
Utah St is currently playing Colorado St. Utah St entered the game as a 24 point favorite. CSU just returned an INT for a TD. They are up by 7 midway thru the 2nd.
I also try not to get too caught up in offensive and defensive rankings after the 1st few weeks. Teams feast on cupcakes and thus pad their rankings. Then you have the classic chicken or the egg scenario. For example, are the teams we’ve faced defensive rankings so bad because they got destroyed by our number one offense? Or is our offense number 1 because those defenses are really that bad?
