I thought the article said he had one small bag (nickel) and one big bag, 20+ grams, broken up so one might think he intended to distribute. I kind of doubt he was selling drugs, it doesn't make much sense if he was.
He did. Perhaps the dealer already had it seperated as such... I don't really know why he would have it like that. I'm just saying that it's not an obvious instance of an intent to distrubute.
Intent to distribute? One freaking nickel-bag? Please. Technically, they can say intent to distribute. But for people in the know: nobody buys "nickle bags". It is too small of a quantity to be profitable (a nickle-bag would maybe fill a small shot glass). And the larger bag is about the right size for a personal stash. I betya the charge for intent to distribute will get dropped, and he will plead guilty on the larger bag and get probation as long as he has no other criminal charges on his record. But you never know. It is Bastrop after all. Not alot of sympathy for drug users, I would suspect.
I agree; I can easily imagine him telling the dealer, "Just give me all of it," which might explain why instead of having $4000, he only had $3600 or whatever.
The larger stash by itself is insufficient proof that he has intent to sell, even if it was broken up into "dispense" sizes. It may still all be for personal consumption, esp. for such a big guy(not funny:dis: ). The large amount of cash did make him look suspicious; why in the world would he carry so much cash so late at night? Not a good idea. This thread just wouldn't be complete with a brief opinion from NLMD. Y'all are making a mountain out of a foot hill. This will all blow over, and I'm sure he'll turn out just fine. I don't know what % of athletes smoke weed, but it's substantial. Should it be legal? That's not the purpose of this thread.
