No im saying that west monroe kids are well mannered and know the difference between right and wrong. And the ones that do see their parents do it and they think they can.

I understand but we should have reasonable exspectation of this student athletes. They are young college student and will do the same thing other college students do. Being an All American DE does not put him on a legal/moral high ground. This may have a very small impact on his draft position and therefore his starting salery.

gumborue, crawfish, martin and jvincent are correct. its very widespread even in middle schools and lower now. i dont touch the stuff either but its certainly the cool thing amongst kids.

hell just check out any myspace or facebook page. i dont know the percentages but thinking its a very small amount is laughable and naive.

salty, dude. you should listen instead of overreacting. there's a lot of truth in cparso's comments regardless who believes it.

i mean when i enlisted and was 17 i drank a beer. that was illegal too but i was man enough to fight for my country? theres all kinds of stupid laws man. i sped on the way to work too.

Right and wrong?! Haha. Oh man, this whole thing has gotten WAY out of hand. And by 'out of hand,' I mean that a bunch of clueless folk are jumping down the throat of others based on what they think should be right.

OK, the financial advisor that reportedly lend him all that money better show up, or else they may stick him with " intent to distribute".

CParso's point was based on what he had seen, relative to what he felt was the general population's perception of atheletes' drug /pot use. I do not see anything wrong with that. At 15% usage rate, that can be relatively "a lot" when the general percetion is less than 5%. Tha was how I interpreted his post.Saltyone's point of up to 10% is not that far from 15%. In any event it is still a minority, but it depends on whether you expects athletes to be cleaner than the average student population because of their higher visibility, and some being held as heros.

    I meant 15% as a bare minimum.

I hate to break it to you but there aren't many of those type of players on LSU's roster. Take off the glasses and stop thinking LSU is perfect and nothing is flawed. Just cause they are LSU football players on the field doesn't mean they are angels off the field. Off the field they are just college students who are doing the same things every other typical college student is doing. I'm sure there are some great LSU players that don't do these things, but it's not everday you come across a Matt Mauck, Marcus Spears, Rudy Niswanger, or a Rodney Reed type of person. I'm not saying that this % and that % smoke, but you act so shocked to hear it. I also don't condone this act but I'm not shocked at all. It would be great if all these players were perfect but they aren't.

I sure cant speak for whats going on today but in the early 80's I smoked weed with at least half the football team at one time or another. Probabaly half of the weed smokers were also doing coke. I was a big weed smoker and used to sell a lot of it to football players. Between that and playing gigs it supported my partying bill at LSU. I even sold it to players from other teams when they came to TS for a game. Word spreads among the players who has the weed and I always had primo ganga and everyone knew it. :) I even sold some to quite a few professors. Old 60's pot head professors were throughout LSU back then.

I do think its probably less today than it was then but I would think quite a few players in all sports still smoke weed today.

Little side note when people say it's stupid to have the drinking age at 21. The reason for that is your liver is not fully developed to handle alcohol untill age 21.

thank you for serving though. :usaflagwa
