Salty's argument isn't whether it's right (although he does believe it's wrong). Salty is attempting disagree with how much it happens. Any one here who has ever been around athletes personally knows better. NFL scouts aren't as niave as some here. Assuming this thing blows over, not necessarily blows over but just isn't harped upon, then it won't affect his draft stock much.
When I was at LSU in the mid 90's it was probably more athletes smoking pot than Saltyone thinks, but less than 50%. That's not to say that they all smoke pot regularly, but I still consider someone a pot smoker if they do it once a year. BTW, the athletes do get tested randomly. The 1st positive test is basically a slap on the wrist, 2nd time is short suspension, 3rd time is long suspension. At least that's what I remember. Anytime you see an athlete suspended for "violation of team policy", you bet it was + drug test - they just can't violate privacy rules. Just think about Kenny Mixon's suspension back then.........the guys who smoke a lot of pot always get busted.
I assume you mean "won't", but you'd be wrong. It sounds like you go or went to West Monroe, so obviously you think you know best. But as it's repeatedly been said here, you only see it if you are involved with those types of people. It's easy to be oblivious to it.
CParso, you have no idea what you are talking about. You are basing your opinion off of your own perceptions, which I say are flawed. I have been close to many athletes from LSU. The best full back to ever play at LSU is in my Sunday School class at church. I talk to current athletes and former athletes from LSU all of the time. I've never been in that crowd huh? Whatever, I'll just say that my co-workers are laughing at that statement. Oh yeah, one of them played for LSU also. You're not going to be the intelligent ones if you keep smoking that crap. And again, it's not a "fact" that a lot of them do it.
