Nice. Ever listen to The Mars Volta? It's essentially the same band (Cedric & Omar), but a very different sound. Crazy insane prog rock. My favorite band in history...Floyd is a close second. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is one of the greatest musicians alive.
Dude, their live shows are freaking unreal. I swear they're not from this planet. Saw them last April @ HOB when they were touring for 'Bedlam.' Three solid hours of them just going the F off. Place was as packed as I've ever seen it, and not a soul moved from their spot the entire show. It's a totally different experience than seeing your typical rock band perform. They'll play songs from their albums, but they go off on 10-15+ minute tangents right in the middle of those songs...crazy guitar solos, drum solos, organ/sax solos, etc. Just absolutely unreal. The only band that even compares live is Tool...but it still isn't really that close.
I saw them at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale. That shyt was amazing, just amazing. Best live show I have ever been too.
My bad. When's this damn game gonna start? I NEED me some LSU BB. OH, forgot to mention. Below would be about #5 on my best list: View attachment 12004
Due to your post, I just logged off ebay after buying Santana's Abraxas. I've been meaning to buy that damn album forever. Somebody borrowed mine and never returned it. If this game doesn't start soon, ebay's gonna break me. I should have never read this thread. Next: Axis: Bold as Love, Jimi Hendrix.
Have you ever listened to One Day As a Lion? It's Rage Against the Machine's Zack de La Rocha, The drummer from The Mars Volta. I've heard one of their songs and it's pretty good stuff. My favortie TMV song is "The Widow".
I consider myself a Beatles afficionado. Here is the track listing to Revolver: Side one # Title Lead vocals Length 1. "Taxman" (George Harrison) Harrison 2:39 2. "Eleanor Rigby" McCartney 2:08 3. "I'm Only Sleeping" Lennon 3:02 4. "Love You To" (Harrison) Harrison 3:01 5. "Here, There and Everywhere" McCartney 2:26 6. "Yellow Submarine" Starr 2:40 7. "She Said She Said" Lennon 2:37 Side two # Title Lead vocals Length 1. "Good Day Sunshine" McCartney 2:10 2. "And Your Bird Can Sing" Lennon 2:02 3. "For No One" McCartney 2:02 4. "Doctor Robert" Lennon 2:15 5. "I Want to Tell You" (Harrison) Harrison 2:30 6. "Got to Get You into My Life" McCartney 2:31 7. "Tomorrow Never Knows" Lennon 2:57 I just have a difficult time declaring an album with "Yellow Submarine" on it being the best of all time. Add to that the fact "I'm Only Sleeping", "And Your Bird Can Sing" and "Doctor Robert" were all on the album "Yesterday and Today", released prior to Revolver.
