Almost impossible task. For me, classic has to go back more than five years. Of course for me ALL of the Beatles' albums. Here are a couple more in no particular order: 'Sticky Fingers' - Rolling Stones 'Led Zeppelin IV' - Led Zeppelin 'Wish You Were Here' - Pink Floyd 'After Bathing At Baxter's' - Jefferson Airplane 'Eric Clapton' - Eric Clapton 'Electric Ladyland' - Jimi Hendrix 'The Doors' - The Doors 'A Night At The Opera' - Queen 'Boston' - Boston 'Hotel California' - Eagles 'Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd' - Lynyrd Skynyrd 'Toys in the Attic' - Aerosmith 'Back In Black' - AC/DC Just to name a few. Cool thread Mastermind :thumb:
Albums that I can listen to from front to back with no skipping over a single song, in no particular order (no newer than 2004): The White Stripes - Elephant The Strokes - Is This It Nirvana - Unplugged Alice in Chains - Dirt Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik U2 - Achtung Baby U2 - The Joshua Tree Either/Or - Elliott Smith Metallica - Metallica (Black Album) Jane's Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual One More Mile - Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction Paul Simon - Graceland The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand Dire Straits - Dire Straits Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV Van Morrison - Astral Weeks The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album) Revolver - The Beatles The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground The Black Keys - Jimi Hendrix - The Jimi Hendrix Experience Never Mind the Bollocks - The Sex Pistols The Queen Is Dead - The Smiths Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace - Foo Fighters (or There is Nothing Left to Lose, you pick) Of the new stuff, pretty much anything by The Black Keys, Clutch, North Mississippi All-Stars, Left Lane Cruiser and The Black Diamond Heavies is great. There is a movement right now of young musicians fusing blues with alternative that's producing a lot of fantastic sounds. ED
ok i will add a few Lynryd Skynryd- pronounced The Cars- The Cars Frank Zappa -Joe's Garage Z Z topp- Fandango Neil Young- Harvest
That's not even the best Beatles album... You just eliminated practically every album in which an electric guitar was used that was produced after 1988. I'm a huge Nirvana fan, but Nevermind wasn't even their best album. Hell, it wasn't even their second-best album. Nevermind is what my nine-year old listens too because it has a pop beat. Unplugged In Utero Nevermind Kurt Cobain agrees with me.
To me it is, I love the album. But I'll add a few more that I thought about. Aquemni-Outkast Reflection Eternal-Talib Kweli Get Lifted-John Legend Band of Gypsys-Hendrix Santana-Santana Abraxas-Santana Me Against the World-2Pac American Idiot-Green Day Toxicity-System of a Down Blueprint-Jay-Z OB4CL-Raekwon
All the Beatles albums listed and NOONE has even mentioned Revolver. View attachment 12003 Argueablly, the best album ever made, I swear, look it up.
I think that Stankonia is the best Outkast album, but all of their stuff is listenable. Eardrum is a better Talib Kweli album. Anything Jimi is on and will always be on my iPod. Abraxas is a fantastic album. I am embarrassed to have left it and Toxicity off my list. SOAD is an oft-misunderstood band. Serj's solo album is a fine piece of work as well. It's popular to trash American Idiot these days, but after Dookie, it's Green Day's best work and a fine example of how an artist's sound can grow, but still remain true to their roots. Ah-hem...
