Actually, Mesquite, since you've brought it up, Oxford is a great place to visit and party, but you don't want to live there. It's such a small town and everyone tries to know your business. That kind of sucks. But hey, that is where my alma mater is and I have to support our football team.
Originally, I found the Ole Miss fans to be gracious in defeat. But the remarks posted here prove otherwise. There is no need for name calling. I am an LSU fan but certainly am no coonass nor am I inbred. I come from Tennessee and adopted the LSU tigers as my team. Why? Because they've the best fans in the SEC. Furthermore, the fact that your rinky dink bars close early is not a major issue of concern. Personally, I wouldn't have set foot in one of those bars anyway. They are a far cry from New Orleans and not even worth my time. And as far as dressing up for football games, go ahead. We understand that your knowledge of what is and is not appropriate leaves much to be desired. Besides, I rather enjoyed watching your ladies trip on their four inch heels while tryng to climb the stadium stairs. As for not liking us, I don't blame you. Rest assured the feeling is mutual. So sit back and watch, because we will indeed go on to beat Georgia, Arkansas, and anyone else who tries to stop the MIGHTY TIGERS!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!
LSU fans may not give Ole Miss the "warm fuzzies" when they come to Baton Rouge. However, I can GUARNTEE you that not one single LSU player would call any of the Ole Miss players a Nigger .... That's plain ignorance personified. Hate that's its still out there but it is. There is no place for it in this day and age. I would gladly welcome every single one of the LSU players in my home .

I am from Batesville, just 20 miles from Oxford and most of the people are good folks and friendly. It's always the bad apples that spoil the barrel and OLE MISS has some of these. They really show their butts on the big games. I saw a sports writer, can't remember his name, from Jackson that suggested that they ( OLE MISS ) get really rowdy and juiced up Hotty Toddy b4 the game. REAL bright individual he is. ALWAYS treat the other teams fans and players with respect. If you see something unsavory report it even if it is on your own side. It would be nice to be able to take kids, women and elderly family members to EVERY SEC game without worring abour a bottle hitting a loved one in the head. I hope any LSU fans that feel rowdy on Friday, will direct their enthusiasm toward the Field when the piglets run on the field. I think talking Smack should be done on UBB forums and from the stands, not at families passing by the tailgate area. JS JS
