1. That's because things are pretty much under control over there, aside from a few potshots here and there. That and the coalition forces are under the control of NATO now, not the U.S.
  2. You never hear anything about Afghanistan because the media can't find a reason to harp on it 24/7.
  3. Yes, I do. And I think it was well-conceived and well-executed, at least in the beginning. I think it needs more attention right now, because the Taliban are making a comeback and we still don't have the al Qaida leadership.

It could be going better, but Iraq has starved it of official attention, troops, and money. The Taliban are now emboldened by the Iraq resistance after having been disheartened by the swift, violent, and successful US airpower war of 2001-2002.

No, its a by-product of Iraq. They are tuning on our wartime decision makers. If all our attention was on Afghanistan and Taliban and al Qaida were being defeated in return for the sacrifice of US troops, the support would be there. Americans support successful wars that are vital to our interests and they don't support ill-conceived failures that are not. This is an enlightened and intelligent citizenry.

  5. So do you still support the Afghan war?
  6. I have always and will continue to support the Afghan War.
  7. Right, because all the terrorist have fled to Iraq; which is something they wouldn't have been able to do before we declared war there.
  8. They would've gone somewhere else if not Iraq. War with Iraq was going to happen regardless.
  9. How do you figure?
  10. Saddam's refusal to disarm, not to mention Bush was pretty intent on it. Who knows, perhaps Al Qaeda would've been able to get in bed with Saddam after awhile. War with Iraq was just waiting to happen.
