I think torture works. And I want it done if it saves American lives. It's ugly but WTF, war is just about the ugliest thing in the world. That's why we ought not to rush into one because our president wants to swagger around and all of his cohorts are chicken hawks.

I'm with Redd, it's always been done. Bush was an idiot to make it public and legal.

It appears Pelosi knew about it, and she's lying. That goes back to my big problem with the democrats in the run up to the Iraq war, to many of them were afraid to challenge the Bushies and be labled un-american. Which proves republicans are hypocrites, now all of a sudden, it's patriotic to ubstructionists and want a presidents policies to fail.

That's just stupid Red. Even after Bush, et al made it "legal", the F'ing Democrats are trying to prosecute the decision makers. Imagine if they had really tortured and if it had been covert? They'd be looking for the death penalty.

And Pelosi is a lying bitch trying to throw the CIA under the bus for doing their jobs, vis a vis keeping Congress informed.. That C**T makes me puke.

Excellent attempts at derailing the thread guys, but...

    1. Pelosi was briefed, and it's been proven.
    2. Pelosi had an opportunity to object, and chose not to.
    3. Pelosi objected to Rice about another matter and got the Bush admin to cease before moving forward. She was capable of making a difference, but again, in this instance chose not to.
    4. Pelosi claimed she was mislead in her briefing but when the CIA fired back, she backed off and tried to blame Bush.

What does it matter what a congresswoman from California knew or didn't know? Well considering she was the ranking dem on the intelligence committee at the time, has been the driving force behind going after Bush officials for conducting tactics she approved of, and has now repeatedly lied to Americans about her knowledge and motivations....I don't know, what does that really matter?

I mean she is only 3rd in line to the presidency. No big deal at all.

Openly approving a practice that is unconstitutional is what's stupid. It should have been buried deep black.

If it were covert we wouldn't know about it, would we? And the government would have deniability if anyone suggested it.

Well, that ain't exactly the most astute political commentary I've ever heard, . . . but your viewpoint is clear and shows why Pelosi is becoming a lightning rod for the democrats. I wouldn't be surprised to see a replacement happening within a year. She got the job as a reward for holding democrats together during the republican White House, Congress, and Supreme court years. If she starts to divide the blue dogs and progressive democrats from the liberal democrats then her days are numbered, I'm thinking.

    The suggestion?

The question is one you have to answer yourself. If the leader of your party in congress shows such a glaring lack of integrity or stupidity, what does it say for the direction of that party? I don't suggest that congress is filled with better candidates, but getting rid of the morons has to start somewhere.

People outside of cali can't vote Pelosi out, but they can see to it that their own legislators don't support her, or kick them out. She loses support, and eventually she will be done.

Darwin's theory has been corrupted for far too long.

I love how the constitution can be your friend except when it come to issues you disagree with. Bush, et al were only trying to be above board by keeping Congress in the loop about interrogation tactics. Bad guys were in custody and information was badly needed...and valuable information was received. Lives were saved. There was nothing unconstituional about the Executive Branch seeking the approval of the Legislative branch.

You can't be that naive. Dems spent every waking moment for the past 5 years trying to dig up dirt on Bush. Once it became politically feasible, they were doing everything in their power to subvert the war effort .

It ain't political commentary. It's me being me.

that doesnt mean nothing, but it is sitting right next to it. my mechanic is a good, honest man. ole jimmy carter was a good, honest man. huckabee would rely on more of the "aw shucks" votes than even clinton and w did. no thanks.

not my party. but if you are speaking generally, then yes they should strip her. but i dont see this as a big deal. she was just one of the stupid ones that got caught laying it on a bit thick. seriously, do you think any worse of her now? not me. tough to get much lower.
