1st off - I love a little jabber back and forth - especially since this one is staying relatively clean and no one is throwing personal insults . .very commendable on all parts (granted, most of you don't care that I'm impressed with it . .but I'll say it anyway) 2nd - "We fumbled the first snap of the game, and gave Auburn the ball deep in our own territory." Not exactly - you may have fumbled, but you got the ball back, and then drove down the field on your first possession. Randall threw a pick deep In AU territory which was returned to your side of the field. 3rd - you guys keep saying we beat your 2nd string QB. I would LOVE to have seen the reaction from you guys if Southlink posted after the UGA game that you beat them, but only because they were missing their starting RB, WR, and TE. 4th - Titan Tiger absolutely BURNED you guys with that link of all your predictions last year (I totally mean this in a good natured ribbing sort of way) - but other that spurting stats - that was one of the best responses to something I have seen on a message board in a long time. It is not a stupid retort it all - it was awesome and I am still smiling from that one.
Come on Chuck. That's total BS. You know damned well that LSU fans picking the game on an LSU board are going to be predominately in favor of LSU with all predictions cast through purple and gold tinted glasses. The same goes for Auburn fans picking on an Auburn Board. Unfortunately, it cannot be checked since your forum underwent an overhaul but you can bet that most WEN posters, INCLUDING TITAN TIGER, picked Auburn to "make a statement" against Georgia Tech. If you can prove otherwise, I will send you a personal check for 20 dollars. And you have my word on that.
I have no interest in proving otherwise . .I will happily tell you that we did expect to destory GT . .and for that matter beat USC. And you know what . .2 years from now, when we play GT again, if we are talking about how we will kill them, they SHOULD throw it back at us . . . You can admit it or not . .but that response by TT was awesome . .not sure, "well you said," but to actually break it down statistically was really funny . .
So you have proven my point. It's ridiculous to take fans' pre game predictions and throw them back in their faces like they make a living off of football forecasting. That's part of the fun of these boards. But please, quit trying to make TT's post out to be some magnificent stroke of genius. Then again, apparently you guys have adopted Bama's philosphy of "if you can't brag about the present, dazzle em with the past."
I know this: on that same thread where you guys predicted an LSU demolition of AU last year, I predicted AU 22-19. Sure, it was AU that I picked, but I expected it to be a struggle because we had only begun to show some signs of life with Campbell and Ronnie in the 2nd half of the UF game, and you guys had a frosh QB starting his first game on the road. And bragging about the past, as applied to bammers, isn't about legit bragging rights from the most recent game between two schools. It's about them recalling the glory days of 3 decades ago as if it matters in 2003. They think because a coach that died over 20 years ago made them a football powerhouse, that they are still to be revered in the same way now. Us bragging about beating you guys in the most recent game played between the two of us is not "dazzling them with the past". It's normal, everyday, run of the mill bragging rights.
Those may be your rules but they are not mine. If LSU stunk it up this year like Auburn has I wouldn't be over at South Carolina's board bragging about how badly we beat them last year.

Whatever. Most people recognize that when fans from two rivals are talking, that the most recent game is basis for bragging rights. You can spin it until you drill down for oil for all I care.
