what matters is who makes it to Atlanta, and in my opinion, thats ALL that matters. But I do think a win over AU is crucial in deciding if LSU can get there
Titan hang onto your 2 wins over LSU and your Co-Championships. Its all you got. We are going to only be happy if LSU makes it to Atlanta. You can celebrate Auburns two victories over Saban , of course the one that really counted Auburn got their asses handed to them (2001) But that is irrelevant. I could care less if Auburn beats LSU, or vice versa so long at the end LSU is playing it Atlanta. I guess thats what seperates our expectations of our program from and yours from Auburn. Beating LSU or Alabama is as important as actually playing (let alone winning) a championship. Being that Ga Tech has as many SEC titles as Auburn does (Come to think of the same wins this year.. Oh wait they hold the tie breaker...) I can understand. So enjoy your victory 3 years ago over LSU at home, and last year at the hands of a backup QB at.. We will enjoy this season, what the future holds, oh and LSU's win over Auburn (At home) that the winner played for the SEC title if you must bring up the past. (Which LSU won..) And if you want to hang onto the past so much, might want to revisit that Penn State win. If you hang so much on the past and compare it to this year. Penn State flat out sucks this year... So does Ga Tech though, and look what happened there. Win or lose the Auburn LSU game, who makes to Atlanta. Thats the "bragging" right as you call it. I am still wondering why Auburn is even being discussed. They are 1-2 got 0 votes in last weeks poll, we dont play them for another month. The are playing a D2 school this week for the love of pete.. Lets talk Miss St, #7 LSU and more relevant things. Enjoy your D2 win guys, works nicely with that Vandy win you got.. DUDE SMELL THE F'ING COFFEE WE UNDERSTAND. TUBBY IS 2-1 AGAINST SABAN and 0-1 AGAINST SABAN WHEN IT ACTUALLY MEANT SOMETHING. IF BEATING LSU IS ALL YOU CARE ABOUT CONGRATS YOU WIN WE GOT IT. WE ARE TALKING BOWLS, OVERALL RECORDS AND TITLES HERE. And you get to play Vandy all the time. We play Tennessee and Florida. Let us know how much you want to sell your SEC Championship tickets for. I am sure we all will be needing some. Oh. Enjoy the win this weekend. I heard Western Kentucky is one hell of a D2 school..... PS Chuck thanks for the response. You are as always my favorite Auburn fan..
Friend, they all count. You've got one SEC title, which is one more than us. I'll give you that. We made it to Atlanta twice before you did, so we've had more than just co-championships to show for our efforts. We just need to bust through and take one. So, I will celebrate all of our wins because they all count. The two wins we have against Saban counted enough that you weren't there (when you could have been) in 2000 or 2002. You beat us, you'd have been there both times. But alas, we went in 2000 and Arky did it last year. That's not irrelevant. They ALL count. No, it's only important so far as my discussions with you guys or bammers. If that's all that mattered to AU fans, we wouldn't have been burning up the message boards griping about how we started this year. Stick to what you know. Hey, I don't begrudge you your championship. I pulled for you guys in fact. As far as LSU's "win" over Auburn, keep thinking that way. The more you guys think we don't belong on the same field, the more fun it's going to be for us. Yeah, they only lost a 2000 yard rusher. No difference between those teams. You can spin this any way you want it. You know as well as I do that "bragging rights" refer to who won the latest game between two rivals. Because you guys are obsessed with us? Scroll back to the top to see which school's fan started this thread. No one put a gun to your head. Correction: Saban is 1-2 against Tuberville when it actually means something. Both losses kept you out of Atlanta and one of them put us there. Dude, until the conference split forced us to drop an East opponent, we played Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Alabama EVERY YEAR. After the expansion, we kept Florida and Georgia as our permanent opponents. Only this year after the change to keep only one permanent opponent did Florida come off our schedule. Until the last three years, we hadn't played Vandy since the early 90s. And besides, Kentucky is your Vandy. I'd actually win it before booking your hotel, given recent history. Well, they are a good I-AA school, but we should handle them fine, thank you. Oh, make sure to send me an email when Western Illinois joins the Big Ten. Or I-A for that matter.
Thanks Titan... I guess we all have beaten this to death... Good point on they all count. I think we all should realize the Home team seems to be winning this Saban vs Tubby issue. Which I think accounts for something. Anyway, I guess win or lose the Auburn LSU game, all that matters is who ends up in Atlanta and its a possiblity it might not be either LSU or Auburn. WE shall see.
Who is your permanent opponents in the west, I thought we all only had one, ours is Florida, and rotate the two others (This year USC and Georgia) I assume UGA ???
Our permanent SEC East opponent is Georgia. Florida wanted to keep us, because they've played us more than any other SEC opponent. But, the Georgia series is the oldest in the Deep South and like 7th longest in college football history, so there was no way we were keeping Florida and dropping Georgia. They just changed it last year or so to the one permanent/two rotating format. Before then, since the expansion in 1992, we got two permanent East opponents with one rotating. I understand it, but I sort of wish we still played UT, FL, and GA every year like it used to be.
Ok. Who was the Auburn QB in last year's game? I know, you guys had Randall as yours, but he doesn't play defense. We'll see.
Well, I wouldnt say that he was playing offense either. He completed more passes to the guys in blue than the guys in white. (ok, I give, he was 9 of 20 with 4 INTs- technically he got it to the guys in white a little bit more. We fumbled the first snap of the game, and gave Auburn the ball deep in our own territory. Randall then threw 3 INTs in his first 5 passes. Thats 4 turnovers on 4 consecutive drives (the first 4, at that), all in LSU territory. I really hope you dont expect that to happen again. Mauck rarely throws INTs.
Yeh there was someone taking snaps for LSU last year, but I never saw a QB take snaps. He looked liked a deer in headlights. Yeh we didn't have a QB, we had an LSU player taking snaps and throwing in a forward direction. Geaux Tigers
