Well, I for one don't look at you guys lightly...In fact, you guys could be 0-10, and roll into gameweek against :lsug: and I would still LOVE to beat you.

Truth be told, there isn't a single SEC opponent (ok, perhaps Florida) that I don't like beating more than I do Auburn.

Tiger Educated . .so you are saying its like last year . .when we weren't ranked, and you were top 10 when we played . . and you lost.

And your GREAT coach, who is 1-2 vs. ours.

I would think you would have gotten over that type of overconfidence by now.

It is fun to talk smack and everything, but Oct 25th is a LONG way off. I expect AU to turn it around completely by the time we play them. There is no denying that they have the talent returning. They have players on the field that have produced results. With a few more games under their belts to work out some of the new coordinators issues, I fully believe that they will be the toughest game left on our schedule. I really hate Tubb-o-crap, but he is a good coach and will fix their problems by the time we play them. Sure wish we would have played them in week 1 or week 2. All that being said, I still think that we enter the game as favorites and DV will be the deciding factor.

Chuck, granted Saban is 1-2 against Auburn. But before you rip on our coach you might want to look at records and accomplishments between ears and Saban. Sure Auburn beat our Backup QB last year.. Congrats.

Fact is Saban may be 1-2 but he has
As many SEC titles as Auburn does
    2 New Years day games
    2-1 in Bowls

Tubbs is 31-20 and Alabama with all their troubles has a better record then Tubbs since he arrived.

Before braggin how your coach owns LSU, realize one win does not make a Season. Unless Beating LSU and Alabama is all that matters to the Auburn fan. Congrats... I guess.

Personally losing to Auburn sucks. BUT I got over it in a hurry realizing what all Saban has accomplished and the future he gives LSU.. Lets face it, unless Tubby turns it around he wont be there next year...

SO yeh our coach is great. Look at his record and accomplishments, then look at yours.... So far Saban has us 4-0 and #7. So far Tubby has taken a top ranked team and is 1-2 and his only win is against Vandy... (With a loss to a Ga Tech team who got just drummed by clemson...)
The past well, you probably dont want to compare those either.

Well, I know the personnel we have. It's the same guys that ran over people at the end of the year and beat 3 Top Ten teams in the process. The thing that changed was the OC. And it hurt. Yes, the win was against Vandy, but if the same AU that showed up (loosely speaking) against GT came to Nashville that day, it would have been a struggle. We probably would have won anyway, but you'd have seen a tight game into the 3rd or 4th quarter and we'd have limped by with a win of something like 21-10.

That didn't happen. The playcalling was less predictable. The line blocked better. The defense (which hadn't been bad) turned it up another notch. And we handled Vanderbilt like a team with our talent should have handled them. We pounded them. It was like, once that first TD went up, everyone relaxed and played like they are capable of playing.

Granted, the UT game in two weeks and the Arkansas game after that will go a LOT further in showing whether Auburn is back to the form that made people expect big things out of them this year. But the Vandy game was an important step forward. You can't just write it off completely.

Well, opinions are like buttholes. We all have them...

Because you posted a subject on Auburn. Are you honestly questioning the validity of an Auburn fan chiming in on a thread about his team? Do you really think this is the same thing as LSUtigah turning any and every thread, regardless of the subject, into some AU-LSU smackfest? I give you a little more credit than that. You just don't strike me as a stupid person.

No. The thing that changed is the year. That was 2002. This is 2003. The 3 top 10 teams that you "ran over" were 2002 editions. We are now playing the 2003 schedule. Auburn, in 2003, has gotten dominated, yes DOMINATED, by USC and Ga Tech. It took 9 quarters to crack the endzone and one of those quarters was against Vandy. (By the way, Chuck, if Vandy were to play Ga Tech please PM me so we can place a bet). You cannot place any more stock in a good performance against Vandy than LSU could vs. ULM or Arizona. AU may turn it around but it will have to be a 180 degree turnaround. I think you guys are in for a looooooong season.

You can 31-7 all you want but the above statement tells you how little we care that you guys have bragging rights for another month.

uh . .Saban Fan, Vandy plays Georgia Tech this week. ;)

texastigers . .I'm not ripping Saban, show me were I am ripping him . .I have stated MANY times on this board that I think Saban is a class guy and good recruiter.

However, in defense of yet another CTT attack by a LSU fan, I simply stated the FACT that Saban is 1-2 vs. CTT. Is that an insult? No, its a fact . .he has lost to CTT more times than he has beaten CTT.

I'm extremely comfortable with the rebuilding job CTT has done at Auburn - if you looked at our Roster in 1998-1999 you would laugh at how poor it was - CTT has completely rebuilt this program, and if a few 5 and 6 win season resulted in this rebuilding, I'm ok with that.

As far as the past with CTT. Considering the complete lack of talent he inherited, he is:
    3-1 vs. UGA
    3-1 vs. LSU
    2-2 vs. Alabama

So 8-4 over our biggest rivals . .all of which are typically the some of the top teams in the SEC. Let's face it, there was NO way we were competing with UT and UF in our games against them in 1999 (& 2000 for CTT). Would I like to see a better record against Arkansas . .absolutely . .

Overall I'm just saying that about 13 months ago you guys were a top 10 team and were weren't in the top 25. Yes, you had your backup QB, and we had our backup RB. Part of the talent of a team is the depth, correct? I would just think that SOME LSU folks would be a bit more mindful of the similarities of the past.

"Part of the talent of a team is the depth, correct?"

You are correct and when Mauck went down we were no longer a Top 10 team if not even a top 25 Team(regardless of the polls). I think that was also the first game without DJ. (Toefield and Spears were out as well I think)
We did not know this at the time, but looking back no one(besides maybe Va Tech) should now think beating us was truly beating a Top Ten team and use this to predict future successes.

    Chuck - Riddle me this.

You seem to be happy with Tubby. So I will give up on that angle. I know you answered why you still are a tubbs fan..

My question is, if Auburn does not turn it around and at least win the west (not this co-champ crap) go to Atlanta. Will you give Tubby another year.. (since everyone had AUburn penciled as SEC champs possible National Champs, and unless I read it wrong Auburn got 0 votes last week)

With that said assuming Auburn losses lets say 3 more games (Thats 5 losses) and obviously no SEC championship game.

Are you still on board with Tubby ???

Just curious, not ripping him (or you) just curious what it takes to get one of the last of the Auburn fans I know that doesn't want to run him and his OC out of town after the first 3 games.

I only follow major college teams.;)

All I know is that if LSU were were 1 and 2 having lost to ULM and 'Zona, I would not be on a rival board talking up my team.
