Was Nic Harris a 4 or 5 star when we didn't offer him and he went to OU? I'm pretty sure Chris Brown was a very highly rated 4 star we didn't offer because we were already full at RB. We should have offered Rufus Alexander as he was 5 star talent. OU has ended up with a few highly rated LA products we didn't offer. I can think of a few other highly rated 4 star guys but not any 5 stars.
I went and checked Rivals and these 3 were all ranked 4 stars. Rivals has fewer 5 star players than Scout every year. I really don't remember any 5 star players on Rivals we turned down. Oklahoma has picked up a few LA boys from us, about one a year or every other year. Sometime they are academic casualties, Phil Loadholt, etc., or just positions we are full at. There isn't enough in-state talent in Okla to win championships with.
Yes, I see your point, unless someone had inside information it would be very difficult to know whether a recruit turned us down or we turned him down.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: Totally agree with Parso. We've got other needs we need to fill. I do think we'll take Singleton at FB, but other than that I'm happy with the RB's we have. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
Yep, he wants to take an official visit to LSU. By everything we have heard you have to believe the kid really wants to be a tiger and is waiting on us to open the door and let him in.
Yep, I can feel it and so can intelligent people on this site. The word "controversial" does not in itself have a negative connotation. No one said CLM or the coaches were stupid or incorrect in their assessment of Michael, but people like to discuss whether we should or will take him, especially since he is so highly ranked. It is unusual for us to turn down a 5 star recruit and that is what makes it controversial and fun for everyone concerned to discuss. It isn't a bad thing. In fact it is a great thing because it means that LSU is truly picking and choosing from the cream of the crop.
Well Cparso said if he was to wait awhile and take a visit then he could see him being part of this class, it might be happening.
Bingo We all knew coming into this recruiting season that the numbers we could take were going to be low, we would have an increased number of top prospects interested in us after another NC, and would have to turn down or limit our recruiting for some of these top guys. LSU needs to fill their needs above all else and just because a recruiting site bumped him to a 5star really does nothing for LSU's staff. He is the same guy they have kept in contact with and evaluated. CM seems to now realize that we have other needs and understands that there still is a slim shot we take him if there is a spot available. But he has to be patient for a potential offer.
:rofl: But seriously... According to Scout, CM is saying officially now that he's an LSU man if LSU wants him. And A&M appears to be giving him some space. What an amazing position LSU is in. Cherry picking (in a controversial way) the best talent in the region - some of the best in the nation. I am controversially pleased...
