apparently, Chris's family got a letter in the mail a week or so ago saying that his scholly wasn't going to be renewed. I thought he was being groomed into something special... guess not
Apparently he just wasn't SEC caliber. Who knows what really happened though. If he was sent packing I think we can all rest assured that there is a backup plan. Great arm.. but poor footwork. If he was struggling to hold on to the #3 spot on the roster he should be assisted in going elsewhere.
Very wild turn of events, I thought he was our future star? I guess the fans never really know what is going on in practice. Hope we can build some QB depth now, we are 0 for the 08 class with Shep moving to WR and Garrett moving on. We've been down that road before, and it's not pretty. Now keeping Z. Lee on campus is of the utmost importance. As if it wasn't before.
well, if he was another bambi, that is not pretty either. here's hoping z lee can step up and step in. the z lee. not the "other zl". :hihi:
YES. This right here is a future sh!t sandwich. If it is true his scholly was not renewed, then it is obvious the coaches did so for a definitive reason. But I'm still not going to feel good about it.
On the bright side this now means that JJ and Jarrett Lee will be the two most protected QBs in the conference this year. :dis:
What bothers me is the level of recruit we have been getting at QB based on game performance or the lack thereof. Got to be pretty bad for a ship to not be renewed with the "depth" at LSU QB. If the Zach Lee adventure does not work for any number of reasons they better be loading up in 2011 or looking at a JUCO. I still see Jefferson getting sacked and JL throwing int's! Really hope I am wrong.:geaux:
Wow, I did not expect this happening at all! I suppose if you tell a coach that your not ready to step up and take extra reps, than you might as well get off the team. This seriously effects our QB depth for the future. Thank God JJ and JL aren't seniors this year! Also, I don't like the fact that our #3 will also be focused on baseball, and may have to choose between one sport or the other. This also just made QB a top priority in the 2011 recruiting class. I KNOW Miles has learned from the mistake of not having solid QB depth. Anyways, best of luck Chris. Too bad things didn't work out at LSU.
I wonder how this will affect this years recruiting at the QB position. I would imagine that this creates a lot of opportunity for LSU to sign an impact QB this year. This really opens the door for guys who we were after that verbally committed elsewhere to reconsider and switch. I expect that LSU will press hard for an impact player to sign this year. Teddy Bridgewater? Marquise Williams? Keihl Frazier? (Russell Shepard?) There's a lot of time till NSD.
