Choosing the gender of your children....?

My whole problem with it is that as soon as you start that then some people will not only want a girl for example, but a certain type, a pretty one for example.....or maybe a boy, but let's make sure he's an athletic one, etc. It's going to lead to designer babies and then, what the hell, you've turned people into products. It's seems very uncharitable towards those who are the weakest among us. That's really my problem with the whole Schiavo thing and abortion, etc. People shouldn't be discarded because they are unwanted. The problem, in my opinion, doesn't lie with those who are unwanted but with the culture that has a mindset that would dare to categorize human beings in that way.

I think man is at his best when he makes sacrifices for others rather than using people to his "advantage", so to speak. I hope we don't go further down that road.

I kind of wish we could dictate the gender of OTHER people's kids. You know, like Tonya Harding simply CAN'T have a daughter, Shaq HAS to have a son, etc...
