Also, game is in Knoxville. Going 3-1 during that stretch may be pretty damn impressive. I always want to win them all, though.
The players are legit, but the chitty scheme prevented the big play and gave little ones all night. I hate watching a D not attack.. When we did attack, we made a play, AKA pic.. Not sure why we rushed 4 all night... Chavis gets the big bucks and we one by 3+ scores.....
Exactly. This game was a Chavis "bend-but-don't break" defense. They gave up the short passes but did not let them run wild after the catch. The forced WVU to make long time-consuming drives, except for that one fast one. Result = 21 points for 701 yards of offense. Out tackling was poor and that is the reason for at least 100 years of that offense. Another reason was that we were giving them long fields to work on. our kickoff were getting into the end zone and out punts were going inside the 10. Their drives HAD to be long.
Me too. If I were a betting man I might bet on it. This D is for real no matter what happened tonight. :geauxtige
good post here It should be taken into account. Bottom line we didn't give up the big play. We made them work for each TD.
No problem Debbie........... A holding call would have been nice. Almost every play it could have been called. Chop Block. Too many were not called.
Ooops, must have misunderstood when they announced it... sounded like 33 minutes for us and 22 for WV. eta: of course now that I actually use some math skillzzz 33 & 22 don't equal 60 =p
WVU did a very good job on their offensive line and their QB is very good at getting rid of the ball quickly. I give them credit for that. Other people have already hit the main points about the significance of all this in terms of our D. The only thing I'll add is that I'd like to see some of the trash-talking subside. Must have been some bad blood from last year or something boiling over, but just keep it shut and do your talking on the field.
