this is what happened against auburn last year. punting was awesome and cam had to go 90 yards most of the time.

    but he usually did.

wva is a similar animal. not too big of a deal really. just need to get back to tackling better.

claiborne couldnt stand up or make a tackle most of the night.

I agree with all of this.

No instincts is definitely his problem.

A long pass play over the middle of the field and Shep lets it harmlessly hit off his hands. He looked as if to say "man throw me the ball a lot better than that, I can't catch that ball". A good receiver goes down and snatches that ball. He hardly bent down to try.

No it's not. We waxed a great team at their house.

There might also be another reason for the stats. WVU's play style simply allows for more plays in a game. Basically double what Moo U and NWST did and still 15 plays more than Oregon (a drive and a half or more worth of plays).

    WVU - 87 plays
    Moo U - 59 plays
    NWST - 56 plays
    Oregon - 72 plays

LSU's defense was on the field more than they've had to be all season and likely will never play that much in 1 game again this season unless it goes to over time.

Am I happy that they passed for almost 500 yards on us? No. But taking everything in perspective I don't think it's a cause for major concern. LSU came out with the win and they now have a chance to address whatever issues they need to on defense.

We still had 11 or so minutes more time of possession.

Good thing he could run kickoffs back 99 yards!

    Oct 8 Florida
    Oct 15 Tennessee
    Oct 22 Auburn
    Nov 5 @ Alabama

This is the stretch that will show if there is really a "chink in this defense's armor. Florida and Alabama will be really big test, especially wrapped around Auburn and Tennessee. Hoping for the best.

We had less than 7 minutes more time of possession.

Probably right, but are you one of the ones who said this was the 'best LSU defense ever'? I was, but 'best defense ever' doesn't give up 450 yards passing to any team for any reason.

I'm not saying the season is lost. Only that they have some work to do and need to quit reading and listening to people saying they're the best defense ever.

And none of these teams play the same offensive style as we saw tonight (or for that matter in 3 of the first 4 games). I think we'll be alright.
