Ford is nice. However you might want to check what Dodge has done in this department "The interior and electronics are far better than the others mentioned." I have touch screen console with GPS. Has a HD built in and blue tooth, Bose Premier sound, heated and cooled leather seats, heated steering wheel, as well as a power socket, I have cameras that appear on the screen when I back up so I can see what is behind me. Parking assist. I like the Ford to I was stuck between this and the Platinum 150. I thought the dodge had more of a muscle look to it. But Ford is really nice. Beauty is in the eye I guess. But what hooked me on dodge was just that. The interior was really slick. And the transmission is on the console now like a shifter, not on the collar in the old days.
The big WOW for me was the frame twist test and how badly that Ford twisted and buckled. I imagine the Ford engineers are working on that as we speak.
I have owned both a Ford F150 and a Chevy Silvarado 1500. They both were about the same: V8s, lousy gas milage, and rode like trucks. :hihi:
red doesn't drive fast enough for anything to buckle if he runs into something. He probably has his women chauffeur him anyway.
Oh that is important. My dodge Ram is horrible on gas mileage. They brag about it on the commercial. But my onboard computer says I average about 12mpg. I dont drive much (My truck is a year old and has exactly 6800 miles on it) basically to the airport and back and around town. But yeh the gas mileage stinks but I also must admit i have a ton of fun with that Hemi engine, so I am not exactly the most eco-friendly driver.
I bought my first ever Dodge Ram a couple months ago. It's not the loaded one like yours, but it has all the basic features, like the console shift and bucket seats. I got 4x4, and the only other thing I really wanted is the rear camera that this one didn't have. I don't trailer a whole lot, mostly my mower, but the camera would be nice. I have to say I love the truck. Love the looks, 20" wheels, big hemi rocks, quiet ride, and interior is comfy and plenty of features. I've owned Ford and Chevy, and looked at the Tundra. They're all good. The $10,000 off ad for the Dodge may have helped my decision. :thumb:
Since I have 32 kids on our street and my house seems to be the epicenter of all the bikes, scooters and dolls the back up camera is a huge player of me as I back down the drive way to see if there are any toys or kids behind me. I really thought it was "Cool to have" but now that I have a backup camera it is really cool, for towing even better because I can see the ball as I back up, I would miss it. But congrats on the Dodge. Great truck. Now that is it is cold again, I really love the remote start as well. Fire it up inside the house, when I get in its all warm... Also a really cool feature. BUT DONT LOSE YOUR KEYS.. Its 400 bucks to get a replacement set.
I've had them all. I can say, I will never buy a GMC again. Thats it, I don't often use never, but this time I will............never a GMC. To add, my last truck was a Ford and I drive a Taco now, both have been good. Every Dodge Truck I've owned has been at or over 200K miles.
F250 6.0 diesel, crew cab. Rides like a bucking bronco compared to 1/2 tons, but it is made for heavy duty towing, not cushy ride. 115k miles, it should go for a long time to come. Only problem I have had with it is an O-ring that is leaking oil now. $1600 to fix it. Gonna let it leak for a while. For me, the ultimate truck would be the F250 body, Dodge diesel engine, Chevy Allison transmission. My last truck was a Chevy 1500. It rode really well, and I had no issues with it except for replacing the transmission at around 160k miles. I am convinced I ruined the transmission pulling 15000 pounds of relief supplies from Wichita Falls to s LA after Katrina. I sold it at 186k miles and it was still working great. I don't get too wrapped up in what looks the best or has the best specs or whatever. There are lots of vehicles that will meet specific criteria. I shop around for the best deal/value. Vehicles, by and large, are made so well today that pretty much all of them are reliable. I always buy used, typically 2 years old, and hunt for the absolute best deal then haggle them down even more. My present truck now blue books for $5200 less than I paid for it 4 years ago. $1300/year for a nice vehicle appeals to me.
Don't get me wrong. Dodge has come a long way. A really long way. The interior to more like a GMC to me. But IMO can't compare to Ford.
