Of course it does. The significance of the event was that Cheney was irresponsible with a weapon. If he's reckless with his own why should we trust him to be responsible with the country's? His subsequent coverup are also indicative of his disdain for the public, and his ineffectiveness in handling a crisis.
Ahh. You are employing weapons of mass distraction. "Look! Over there!" What in the world does anything Clinton or Kennedy has done that has any bearing on what I think of the current administration? If they were wrong about some other issue, does that make Cheney right on this one? Ridiculous! And just because I criticise this administration does not mean that I condemn conservatives and it certainly doesn't mean that I approve of Ted Kennedy. I've criticised Teddy here many times. You are making assumptions not in evidence. Not you too, Parso? Just invent a scenario and try to label Rex with it. Sheesh. He provides you with plenty of his true rhetoric to respond to. Why make up something to try to discredit him?
if you apply specific personal things like this to a broader political context, then i suppose you really think clinton is a lying, cheating bastard and lies and cheats the american people like he does his wife. i dont think that reasoning holds up. i dont really care. i care about real policy and what affects me. i think people tend to get wrapped up in the media circus of everything and waste time spinning crap every which way. accidents happen, even between friends. they work it out, i leave them alone. you mindlessly apply negatives to republicans in every situation. if my friend shot me while we hunting i dont even think i would be angry about it, depending on the circumstances. and cheney is in a no-win situation. even if it was totally his friends fault, he cannot blame his pal in public. i dont think you know what a coverup is. if i dont talk to you about something, it is not a coverup. especially if it doesnt concern you. i havent told you what i had for breakfast. is that a coverup? (it is irrelevant whether you want to know or not). if you ask me what i had for breakfast and i lie about it, thats a coverup.
You conspicuously avoided the aspect of the matter that I identified as the most significant: the fact that he was reckless with a weapon. And no matter how much you wish it weren't so, the American public has a right to know when its vice-president shoots a man.
there is a smart perspective for the anti-cheney crowd to take, and our amigo contained chaos took it: when there are accidents, you take a look at them and figure out the problem and yell a bit at and lay some guilt on whoever was most to blame. then you all take a bit of the blame when your parents or the media or your boss or whoever shows up to call you irresponsible. thats the end of it. if you are famous, then you take the blame yourself and don't sell out your friends. thats the way accidents work.
accidents happen. think about what an accident is. it isnt intentional. i wrecked a car once. it was my fault. i tried to not do it again. the end. i dont need jackasses saying i am evil because i caused an accident. nobody is perfect. i get mad at people when they **** up on purpose. if it was intentional, then i agree. but an non-fatal hunting accident among friends is not the same. i dont really care what cheney is doing with his friends, unless he is doing something criminal. and there are lots of crimes he can do that i dont care about either. you care because you are a blind and very emotional partisan.
Accidents frequently occur from recklessness. You still haven't answered why Mr. Cheney should be trusted with this country's weapons when he was reckless with his own.
i suppose when it comes to non-criminal personal mistakes and moral vices, i am. what do i care if you are a whoremonger, adulterer or drug addict or idiot hunter. just try to do your best when it comes time to make decisions for the country. edit: i made a really stupid spelling error in this post (i fixed it), if i was you guys i would have taunted me for it. i guess i am more of an asshead than you guys are.
