Wasn't Chavis also the linebackers coach? Why not bring in Pendergrast and Orgeron. Move Brick to linebackers, have O coach the D Line, and Pendergrast run the D. Then you have 2 top notch recruiters on D as well.
While I suppose he can do whatever he likes, and I believe Chavis may take a run at him when he's officially a Faggie, supposedly Haley has told the recruits that he's going after he is staying at LSU. Who knows, maybe the new DC cleans house and brings his own people in. But short of being let go by the new DC I believe Haley when he says he's staying.

I don't think that is correct. His 1st stint at USC, he was Defensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. His 2nd stint at USC he was Defensive Line Coach then Interim Head Coach (after Kiffen was fired). He's never been a Defensive Coordinator.
I can see that. Coupled with the success of Haley in the past I wouldn't be in a hurry to run him off.
