    The only person the prognosticators have brought up is that USC dude.

    Pendergast and I like what I've read about him. But I don't know if he has any interest.

    What does forward look like and who's steering the ship when Miles leaves?

    @BRETT Well aren't you just a ray of off-season sunshine? :D

    nola.com now reporting Bob Shoops from Penn St. and Brent Venables from Clemson as candidates, but still consider Pendergast and Steele to be the favorites.

    It was said that Chavis was offered 1.5M in Tuesday meeting with Miles, but Chavis will make 1.5M in 1st yr at A&M.

    Nola.com put the odds at DC candidates at:

    Pendergast 4-1

    Steele 5-1

    Shoop 10-1

    Venables 15-1

    Orgeron 40-1

    Durkin 50-1

    Chizik 50-1

    While I agree there needs to be a huge shakeup on the Offensive side of the ball and a big time wake up call to Miles, if LSU pulls DC Pendergast, I think it may spark renewed interest in some of the nations top Defensive recruits. Haley is staying on as the DL coach, so several commitments have said they are still with LSU, but Pendergast has made immediate turn arounds to several teams D within the PAC, and made the AZ D what it was on their SB run a few years back. He knows D. I think he would be a bigger upgrade than what we had with Chavis.

    i like the optimism and perspective
    still not convinced Haley is staying. contracts are broken everyday. his boss just gave notice he is leaving, he's got time to change his mind and follow Chief.
    Brett's right to some degree. unless the offensive philosophy changes, and Les rediscovers that the forward pass can help you win, nothing will change ultimately, even w/a new DC, and we will continue our decline.
