This "incident" was more than acceptable. It was great, and obviously not criminal.

As for Tenn/Ga, the NCAA should consider modeling their programs after SMU.

    Re-read the article.

The alleged victim didn't drop the charges, the DA dropped the charges (presumably because of a lack of evidence).

Yeah, a lack of evidence  , when the frat kid's face was hamburger.

Everyone knows LSU doesn't have any stroke in the DA's office

This thing stinks of home cooking, but I'm glad for the results. I just hope the LESSON WAS LEARNED & will not be repeated.

Miles' Football players need to keep their butts out of the bars that late. We don't want to turn LSU FB into another program like Arkansas, TN or GA. I hope Les makes a good example of this kid with his private punishment to deter any future incidents.

What lesson should be learned? Do not defend women?

So what some idiot frat kid got a beating. He was probably going to get one the next week anyway, for saying that some dude's tires on his Tahoe looked small or something.

The Lesson learned should be a simple one. Keep your butt out of bar rooms & drinking late at night (especially alone) when you play FB at LSU. Maybe that's not clear enough for you. What happens if Pittman drove the kid's nose into his brain or some other ferocious hit & killed him. Then you're talking a manslaughter charge that won't wash. Common sense is beyond some folks.

Sorry, I just didn't realize our players were not normal students. All those years at LSU and I never noticed the monastery for the players. My mistake.

No, but a lesson he should learn from all of this is IF you're to defend women, and you're 6'4", 267 lbs., you DON'T have to pummel the guy. Use only enough force that is needed.

With Pittman's size and strength, a good punch to the gut would have enabled that guy well enough. You don't have to break facial bones, ribs, legs, hands, teeth, etc., all at one sitting.....
