I don't know if Campo will ever be a head coach in the NFL again. He was a surprise choice to coach my Cowboys a few years ago and got much press as only being a puppet to Jerry Jones. I am not sure how much of that was true but I know the Cowboys did not have much success under Campo as a HC. Thus, I cannot imagine a NFL program wanting him as their top guy. But he was great as a DC. I think this is fantastic hire for LSU if this is true.
I don't think he will be a head coach in the NFL again either. I was talking about an NFL team wanting to get him as their DC. DC at LSU will not pay as well as a DC in the NFL, so I think that we will not have Campo too long. 2years max and 3 if we are lucky. If he puts a good defense together at LSU that gets the recognition that LSU got in 2003 then the NFL will be knocking on his door for a DC job. Also, he might want to go back to the NFL in a couple of years to get finish his career and get the years in the NFL for retirement, plus it just pays better.
