"The Fighting Irish won nine championships in the poll era, making them the second-most team with championship titles out of all teams." Is that relevant enough for you?
Media bait....lol. I despise notre dame but that doesn't change the facts. You are trying to argue that they suck and are no longer relevant and that just isn't the case. If you consider the following metrics for the last 4 seasons prior to conference realignment.... - Home attendance - Market size/share - Valuation - Social media following - TV viewership Here are the rankings (only including the top 30).... 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. Alabama 4. Notre Dame 5. Georgia 6. LSU 7. Penn State 8. Texas 9. Auburn 10. Oklahoma 11. Florida 12. Texas A&M 13. Clemson 14. Tennessee 15. Wisconsin 16. Nebraska 17. Michigan State 18. Florida State 19. Southern Cal 20. Iowa 21. South Carolina 22. Arkansas 23. Mississippi 24. Oregon 25. Miami 26. UCLA 27. Washington 28. Virginia Tech 29. West Virginia 30. Mississippi State Wins, bowl games, titles....are one thing. Money, butts in seats, TV ratings are another.
All trending down for the Irish! You again posted stats by Casper. The paranormal is strong with you greenies! Let it go, they suck and are just not what they once were AND I might add will NEVER be again. If they join a conference then it just speeds up the inevitable
If they don’t join a mega conference, but are still able to play/beat mega conference teams, they could probably stay indie. But if no one wants to schedule them, for politics or because they suck, they might drop exponentially. I’m thinking ND struggles without BK. If they wait too long, there might not be any seats left.
FSU and Clemson; yuck. I’ll take new markets. I’d rather VATECH and Maryland than FSU/Clemson. Someone also mentioned the U, which I’d take over FSU.
I'm hearing there won't be any ACC teams joining the SEC until they can all work out a huge buyout with the ACC, which contract runs through 2036. Reports put the dollar amount at 120 million!
