Bush never made up his missing time. Bush never made up his missing time, and here's the proof from the records, themselves: http://glcq.com/missed_weekends.htm
His obligation was the 50 points, he got the 50 points. Yes, he wasn't around for long periods of time, but his obligation was the 50 points. The records show that, and even though I only skimmed that hit piece you linked it appears to say the same thing. Even if he didn't make up those 5 months, he still reached the requirements. He was active duty and the Guard was his full time job for his first two years. His 3rd and 4th year were similar to his first two. Sorry, if I don't feel the need to discredit the man b/c he slacked off in his last year in a half. He reached the minimum requirements. I think our next topic should be Kerry's actions when he was in the Navy Reserves. :thumb: Not really.
I don't think Mr. Rex wants to touch that one, as it would get into some dicey areas concerning young Lt. Kerry going to Paris and taking it upon himself to deal w/ the VC at the negotiating table.
Rex, have you ever served in the National Guard or Reserves? Do you have any notion as to how they do things and how the system works?
That's OK, MT...I did some National Guard time, so I know the answer I'm looking for. I just want to see if Rex does. A lot of people like to shoot their mouths off on topics they have zero knowledge of...I'm guessing he's one of them.
Your lights have been "out" for quite some time now. I think the lamp shade has recently started to sport spider webs. :dis:
Amazing attitude from the same folks who criticise Kerry for leaving Vietnam only 4 months into his second tour. Anybody who had earned three Purple Hearts had reached the minmum requirements to go home. Somehow leaving a combat zone legally with Bronze and Silver Stars is supposed to be disgraceful? But losing flight status and failing to attend major Cold War drills on the home front makes King George II a hero, I guess. After all, he only slacked off for a year and a half. There is a $10,000 reward posted for anyone that can testify or provide documentation that George W. Bush ever served in his Alabama unit during the period in question. No takers yet. Documents do exist that say he could not receive his annual evaluation because "Lt. Bush has not been observed in the unit". "He reached the minimum requirements" will be engraved someday on George Bush's tombstone. The history books will not be so kind.
I couldn't care less about John Kerry's service. I do find his 3 Purple Hearts in 4 months, without ever going to hospital suspicious, but it wouldn't effect my vote against him if he served 4 years and earned 15 Silver stars. I also couldn't care less about Bush's, but to say he was AWOL or a deserter like it's a fact is false. I have never called him and I've never seen any one else call him a hero based on his Air National Guard service.
